Nearly everyone had a radio and there was a movie theater in nearly every town. Life in the cities was pretty good until the bombs dropped but those were usually pretty well a class system. Maybe they see the majority (peasants) as living well because they served the upper-class and had radios as well as could catch a movie once in a while?
In other words, I have no idea what they were thinking. Life did improve, for a short time, when the Germans started their territorial expansion as I understand. It was short lived however as annexing land tends to really piss off the rest of the planet and things get ugly when someone refuses to cede the land.
It is starting to sound like your country is due for some American Branded Freedom! (It comes with a free cake. There is that.)
Before you yell at me, I never vote for the candidate that wins and I don't support them bringing you Freedom (even if I think you may be wrong). So, on behalf of my country, I'm sorry for the Freedom we're going to give you in the future. I really am sorry. There's not a whole lot I can do to help. Umm... Enjoy your Freedom, I guess?
Having said what I have said on this subject, I will say this - and hopefully articulate it well. I admire the sentiment but I dislike the law. To me, at least, there must be demonstrable harm (and there could be) if we're going to establish rules to limit speech. I am certainly not a fan of hate speech and would never condone the speaker in any way. I certainly am a fan of free speech and will ignore, rebut, or mock the speaker as I am wont to do.
Hopefully that makes sense. Certainly, I understand why they have this law and I can understand that it an exceptional circumstance in Germany. I dislike the precedent and I really hope that it remains very limited in scope because of the drastic abuses that could be should a modern first-world government follow suit and expand on the idea to curtail other speech. It would have been unpopular to say that women should have equal rights at one point in time. Had that speech been banned then it may never have happened.
Chances are that your history is filled with people who spoke out against societal norms and made changes. There is already a proven benefit to unpopular speech. While, I hate so sound like I am, I am not supporting the idea that the holocaust is deniable or anything, I am saying that I dislike the idea of a government deciding what is and what is not acceptable speech.
Wow, I really hope that's readable.:/ I've read it three times to make sure that I'm not coming out on the side of the conspiracy theorists, anti-Semites, or neo-Nazis. If it does seem like I am siding with their ideals then please understand that I am an inarticulate American. I am siding with the ideals of the right to the freedom of speech and not any specific speech in particular.
Well, with all those spelling and grammar errors you do, certainly, fit a stereotype. I'm inclined to think you're trolling. That's just too much stupidity in one post and I am not even sure that one could do that by accident even if English were their second language.
I have to ask... Umm... I don't disagree with your sentiment but what are you on about? This is about Malaysia which, unless I am wrong - I've never been, is somewhere in the South Pacific. African-Americans are, well, probably not persecuted all over the world considering they're in America. That's the "American" part of that expression. Elsewhere they're just "Africans."
So, yeah... I really don't know where you were going with this. Apartheid means something about kept apart, ala segregation, if I recall a documentary about some bird island or something or other prison in South Africa. I am not sure it's really applicable in this situation but I haven't dug deeply. I can, definitively say, it's not about African Americans being persecuted, however.
I gotta be honest here and say that I agree - my perception has been that there are far more people complaining about SJWs than there are SJWs complaining about, well, anything - at least on this site. I mostly just see folks bitching about SJWs to be frank.
Maybe Firefox should stick to making a core browser that works and is secure. Then forks can make alternative versions with all the bells and whistles as needed. I do not really have a solution but that is what comes to mind.
Might I recommend Opera? It is built on Chromium but strips out all the privacy invading crap that Google has. It is open, it is free, and it is pretty good. You can use extensions from Opera or even Google so you have a lot of choices. It is stable as all hell. It has a temporary save state so when you POST data you can press back and make changes to your input. It is quick, easy, and ranks very well in a number of tests. It is also seemingly gaining market share.
I have been using Opera since the days that you had to pay for it. So I am a little biased but I also have donated to Mozilla and they even put my name in some newspaper or other (I forget which one - it was a big thing to them at the time though I did not really care). Opera generally has been the browser to incorporate the new features before other browsers get them. I have been a fan for a very, very long time.
Portable versions can be built or downloaded. It's worth the time to check, if you are interested in an alternative, and I've had great luck with them.
I have a new computer sitting in a box. It has 32 GB of RAM in it. I have a few with 16 GB of RAM. I simply haven't needed more and I haven't felt the urge to set up yet another computer around the house. I was a little high when I ordered it. Stupid pot...
To be fair... If she has had a computer since the C-64 days then she really should know how to use a computer well enough to open a Word document. Which, well, assumes she does not still use the C-64 as I do not believe that would be capable of opening a Word document. Well, no, it would open it if it could load it into memory and it would then show all the markup as the only choice would be to read it as a plain text file.
Anyhow, I am a bit sorry to say this and it makes me feel like you will think I am an elitist - I am not, truly, I am not. Much of the 'dumbing down' of compute devices has actually resulted in making them more difficult to accomplish things that are not standardized. I do not want a dumb router that just magically configures stuff. I want to control ingress and egress. I want to ensure my safety is the priority with these rules. I want to establish networks and designate specific IP addresses that are not DHCP assigned.
The trend is that once one device does it then the rest copy it and, soon, it becomes difficult to find adequate solutions at reasonable prices and sometimes they are damned near impossible to find. I don't want that world. I want a world where I am free to tinker. I want a world where it is complex and it does require that you learn because, by learning, you better understand the principles and you are better able to make your own choices or craft your own solutions.
No no no... I do not want that world. I would not be happy there I do not think.
Can't trust you, Greg. You've got a Facebook icon next to your name. That's like running around with a bugger on your cheek. Fortunately, I blocked it with the element blocker in ABP. I had thought I had blocked them all but I somehow missed Facebook. However, I shall remember you always as "Facebook Man." I am not sure why I blocked it - I am going to wipe this box tomorrow and put a different distro on it.
Your post made me ponder so I ended up scrolling back up to find it. Over the years I have figure out that, for me, it seems that the more bleeding edge your hardware is the more likely you are to be cut. This is, of course, part of the adage. Anyhow, this seems particularly true in the graphics arena. I am not sure why that is.
Thanks. I sent a donation your way. I, for one, appreciate it. This should be made its own project and funded by donations. Unfortunately, nobody cares. I have a sad.
No, this is history. Specifically, some of it is our history. It is worth preserving. Am I the only one passionate about this besides him? Do you not get value from museums? Have you not been to their site and enjoyed the old text manuals and old references to BBS days?
So... Umm... Err... I guess we should increase the TSA's budget to account for these space sheep. I am so afraid. I need a warm blanket and a glass of milk.
How about we take none to Guantanamo and just arrest and jail guilty people lawfully? How about we just accept that shit is going to happen and stop being afraid? I think that takes the whole terror point out of terrorism. It is not that simple but, really, I do not really like the whole Guantanamo idea one bit. We're better than that - or we should be.

>Implying that someone, anyone really, reads man pages...
So... Who are you and what did you do with the real iggy?
In hindsight, I can barely speak English - as my prior post shows. Yay me! Illiterate in every language!
Considering that I know no Japanese they'd be technically correct to look at me as an illiterate in Japanese.
We're moving back to dumb terminals anyhow. What's another aspect of life making the slow march towards regression?
Philip, you forgot to log out on Google before taking your screenshot.

If you did not smelt and forge the iron and then turn it into steel you're nothing better than a script kiddie!
In the future computers will have two buttons. One will be labeled cats and the other will be Facebook.

You can donate. Even if it is just a little. It is, unfortunately, PayPal only. Well, it was when I checked the site on Monday.

Then donate. I don't want to be the only one. Actually, I am sure I am not the only one. Still, dig deep and donate. This is important.
