This would be better if it had some sort of fabric cover over the top, maybe even a splashproof one. The design looks a bit impractical unless you've got lots of desk space though.
Normally I wouldn't mind being told to update every 24 hours, but the way NoScript does it is completely fucking retarded. What's the use of Firefox having a "show more information" button in the addon manager when all it displays is an URL to an ad-filled page with a 2 line changelog? And to rub it in, the info box isn't a real textarea so you can't just copy and paste the link.

And here's one example: Try to get an Asus eee701 to play a middle/high frequency square wave. You'll hear almost nothing at full volume, even with good headphones. Why? I have no idea.
I'd prefer to just have the entire thing blocked, since the arrow icon has started overlapping the summary text. ("div.tag-widget-stub { display: none }" goes in the user CSS if you want rid of it)
I guess it's a reference to they way normal people turn into complete dickheads when given the chance to do something retarded online with complete anonymity.
Where did all these unpaid shills in the replies come from, anyway?
AMD started out as a third party fab for Intel's CPUs. Maybe a few years from now this spun off company will move into chip design too, though hopefully by then there'll be enough people using platform-independent OSes that they won't feel compelled to make yet another x86.
But Windows only gained multi-monitor support in Win98 (or 95 OSR2 or whatever, they're almost the same thing). They were still playing catch-up ten years ago.
Linux lets you do the retarded thing and forcibly remove kernel modules, or lets you mark them as removed and only really remove them after anything currently using them has finished.
It's cheaper than the eeePC while having comparable specs, completely blowing it away in battery life _and_ being an open platform (a 2GB zip file hidden away on some website doesn't count as open IMO, sorry). That said, if I ever see one of these on a shop shelf I'll buy it. I won't be running out to find one though.
They were going to convert it to an animated PNG but they couldn't find any image editing software that could handle such an obscure and useless format~

Name a good reason why Gimp shouldn't have a set of geometry tools.
Because people who need that type of drawing are smart enough to use Inkscape instead?
But you can do that with _any_ USB adapter that can run in AP mode. The nintendo one just comes with a price premium for the proprietary XP driver that only talks to other nintendo hardware.
Looks more like they're trying to compete with the iMac from that picture.
With the sand in this case being the advertisements, why don't you?

It's a really nice-looking language, the major flaw is there's hardly anyone using it.
And unlike the article seems to be making out, it isn't made by MS at all.

I think he meant to ask how it affects his effects.

Patents only last 17 years or so: this is all down to health and safety, as convenience stores are no longer allowed to sell weapons-grade plutonium.

Is the dollar really that weak right now? I saw a new, boxed 360 HD-DVD drive in a shop for £40 yesterday.
Yeah, he's not a lawyer, he's a Slashdot editor. Was that a snipe at the tagline (i.e. the only part he actually wrote)?
Any idiot can receive mod points, but it takes a genius to figure out how to navigate this terrible new UI.
Whatever.
If it can encode _Dirac_ at faster-than-realtime, then that'd be something to shout about.

Can Linux avoid this problem?

The Pandora can run all of those just fine on Ubuntu.
The only problem is they completely sold out in hours, and won't have enough to meet demand until at least next year.

Correction: if you can't back up your claims with proof then it means you're not a security researcher, just some dickhead with a blog.

I've often looked at that setting and wondered what in the world it's there for. I guess that either makes you a genius or everyone else idiots.

United States of America != "everyone else"
In reality, everyone else is laughing. Japan included.
