The mosquito spraying trucking going around the neighborhood, always have to run inside and shut the doors and windows. Then there is the different repellents you have to spray on yourself when you go in the woods. One of the most notorious pesticides, DDT was used in the 50s to try to control malaria.The chemicals alone probably kill more not threating species of insects than mosquitoes. The solution given targets just one insect instead of shot gun blast of pesticides that kill many insects.
You are advocating a disease carrying insect that can only survive by sucking the blood of their victims.
With all the above negative side affects , it is better mosquitoes just become extinct.
My thought is that users would have survey or over time the system would record there responses to certain comments and stories. Over time a bias off set would be computed for different types of story tags and comments. I haven't thought about it too much , rather hard to figure out bias in software , maybe an initial survey.

2) They want to milk you for a new version of the software that "supports java X now".
3) They have bad programmers that don't really understand there code, there is some voodoo magic in that specific version of java is needed.
4) The company wants to assume no deviation in run time environment such to lower any support cost for there number 3 mistakes.
