  1. The example you posted ONLY applies to Intel and ONE ARM processor. Every other processor doesn't not allow the read to happen if it is in kernel space or another process.

Google is dependant on Intel CPUs at the moment and has a vested interest in not saying well our cloud just got 5-30% percent slower.

  6. Google is claiming more than what is actually truth. Reality is that AMD might proceed past an exception due to out of order scheduling but the READ never occurs as in the Intel processors. Intel processors were doing the memory check after the fact where AMD is doing it before the instruction ever executes.

  7. Only on Intel processors. AMD processors check the address of the read before actually reading it, thus there is nothing in the cache.

  8. Fuckwit that only applies to Meltdown and only applies to Intel.

  9. "verified the attack’s applicability" aka they didn't actually test it on ANY AMD processor in a non-default configuration. Until then the people at Google who are concerned that their majority Intel cpu servers are shit now needs to actually exploit a AMD processor.

Guess again. Empirically ZERO on AMD CPUs, only "verified the attack’s applicability to AMD Ryzen CPUs" and experimented on "Ryzen" . Where all the actual exploits were only on Intel machines. Rather bad of the researchers to lump what they actually exploited , and what they think they could exploit all mixed together.

Again AMD Ryzen was not exploited in any of their actual experiments, not to say it won't in the future.
