  1. Very Proudly. Mine are among them. I have 3. They aren't constantly marketed to. Well worth the $20/season, or the monthly on NF.

  2. This is NOT how regulations are supposed to work. Lawsuits are supposed to be the last resort, and the usually come from a government agency which is too overburdened to create lawsuits on a whim.

Well, well. Regulations and rules being used in ways they weren't intended to be used. You might be onto a systemic problem there...

    Psychological Egoism + Game Theory = ?

Could it be... the root of many evils?

But clearly not an issue when we have loosely-defined ideas like "race", "gender-expression", "hate speech", "safe zones", etc. I mean really, what could go wrong? Could an entire generation of lawyers go around looking for things to become offended by? No way! That's crazy talk!

Seriously this article makes it sound like life just after a devastating conflict is better than economic prosperity because most people are equally poor.

I imagine you might think that if you didn't read the article.

You could also read it as, "Why bother? The rich will protect their position and only Armageddon will flatten things out." Still the conclusion is the same, BS. The real question is, "Why is our society moving wealth into the hands of fewer and fewer? And "What can we do to make it more equitable?". Jaron Lanier covers this well in "Who Owns the Future?"

  9. Ever noticed how there has to be a new term for new enemy? Milo (supposedly alt-right) is gay Jew that fawns over black men. Soooo, not too neo-nazi to my ears. At what point do you simply hold a different point of view to the established norms? The traditional media got caught flat footed in the election and so it MUST be some nefarious group. How about people just aren't b

I just left a travelling consulting position after 9 years, and the grind of travel was a major part of my reason for leaving. I have said the same thing for years: super-expensive, dealing with McIdiots, being irradiated, and no significant benefit to anyone except terrorists who now have a convenient corral of unarmed people to victimize. Why the f*ck are we paying for this again?

Allowing you to get promoted to different jobs and units.

I bought it originally HP Pavilion 6500e back in 2006 and have only now started to build my next one. Originally coast me $600. I have probably put another $400 into it over the years. As an X'er, my observation is that Millenials are at a disadvantage because of much of the competitive training that I got as a child, was lacking in their upbringing. Competition when I was growing up, was celebrated, grades were there to see how you compared to your peers, I wrestled, and played football. Parents took pride in producing a "strong" (read resilient) young person. They didn't try to save us from every bruise and scrape (300 stitches before 12 yrs old). And my Mom used to tell me to be back home in the Summer by the time the streetlights came on.

Now, I know I sound like an old codger waxing nostalgic, but we were expected to make it on our own, so we do. No one owes anyone crap in this life, you have to go get it. However that lesson is achieved, it seems like a generation may have missed that message.

    Just my $.02. YMMV.
