Oh, the "It's the UN so it must be bad" knee-jerk reaction. Why is that modded interesting?

They discuss this in the podcast. And they discuss the current transition to GPL. It makes perfect sense to have this in FLOSS weekly! These people part of the open source community and deserve to be recognized for there work, despite any historic legal leftovers..

gedit is usually found in the menu as "Text Editor". In Ubuntu, GIMP is called "GIMP Image Editor". What is the problem?

    Launchpad. Show me the source!

Is Launchpad even released to the public? It doesn't make much sense to discuss the license if it isn't distributed. Do you require Google to release source for its search engine?

Why shouldn't it be a disadvantage when they make a bad product? Fonys upper management has the final responsibility for all their products.

And yet courts have been known to impose no or minimal penalties for patent infringement (if accidental and quickly corrected)
If the error was corrected (i.e. the GPL was honored) then what is the point of this discussion? If you need to force someone to release GPL code it would have been an uncorrected violation.

Leon: But, how come I'd be there?
Holden: Maybe you're fed up. Maybe you want to be by yourself. Who knows? You look down and see a tortoise, Leon.
    It's crawling toward you...
    Leon: Tortoise? What's that?
Holden: You know what a turtle is?
    Leon: Of course!
    Holden: Same thing.
Leon: I've never seen a turtle. (pause) But I understand what you mean.
Holden: You reach down and you flip the tortoise over on its back, Leon.
Leon: Do you make up these questions, Mr. Holden? Or do they write 'em down for you?
Holden: The tortoise lays on its back, its belly baking in the hot sun, beating its legs trying to turn itself over but it can't. Not without your help. But you're not helping.
Leon: WHAT DO YOU MEAN, I'M NOT HELPING?
Holden: I mean you're not helping! Why is that, Leon?
    [Leon has become visibly shaken]
Holden: They're just questions, Leon. In answer to your query they're written down for me. It's a test, designed to provoke an emotional response. (pause) Shall we continue?
