I agree, but I have never found reviews useful.

    Thanks.

I agree. Microsoft knew this thing would work on a PC. This is Microsoft pushing the HD-DVD platform. With Sony having their drive built into the PS3, it's awfully tempting to just buy Microsoft's external player.

  3. Source Code... on OLGA Shut Down by DMCA (again!) · · Score: 2, Insightful

So, what's the "source code" for music? Is it the files encoded on the disc or mp3? Or is it the instructions on how to reproduce that music, ie. tabs and lyrics? Look, I'm kind of playing devil's advocate here, no one likes the RIAA and it's resonable to look for tabs from songs without hassle. But if software companies can hold on to source code, which unless you knew code it would be usless to you... just like playing music. -EW

  5. Sources? on Stephen Colbert Wikipedia Prank Backfires · · Score: 2, Insightful

In Colbert's "bit", the truth wasn't in what was said or in the "call to arms" to edit the wiki, but in what he didn't come out and say. You can't challenge a "fact" that has no backing. Without sources, Wikipedia is no more than people playing professor. Even volunteer editors don't know what the hell is truth without some sort of backing. As a substitute, kids would ask me about Wikipedia and if articles would be acceptable in their bibliography. My answer was always no. If they found info on Wikipedia I expected they have something else to back it up. Colbert's stunt proves that this is the fundamental flaw in thinking of the Wikipedia as a source for anything more than opinion. BTW, I checked out the Wiki right after the show... did you know that the population of elephants has tripled in the last six months?! Incredible! -EW

  7. Zelda and Tiger on Just Let Me Play! · · Score: 1

This is an issue I remember dealing with back when I bought Nintendo's "Zelda: Link's Awakening" for the Game Boy. I remember running around collecting those stupid shells because I was promised something special if I got them all. Well, I got them all... at the very end of the game. What was my prize? A sword that shoots when Link's power was full. You know, that cool "special" weapon you got the moment you picked up your first sword in the original Zelda? Also, my wife and I play Tiger Woods golf and I was excited to buy 2006 for the 360. We turned it on and could only play one course. I had to go to IGN to find stupid cheats so I could unlock the courses I paid for just so my wife and I could play the stupid game.
