Sorry, but there is a difference between consent and legal consent. I think what the submitter was trying to say is that instead of having mom and dad sit down and have a talk with Junior about being safe on the internet, they just slapped the parental control software on and left him to his own devices.
Admittedly, most kids would never willingly submit to the parental control software, so the consent argument is a bit pointless, but the parents could have softened the blow a bit by sitting down and just having a little chat about it first, which I got the idea from the summary that they didn't do.
This is different. The article specifically states that the soldier is their "mass communications specialist", and that he was being paid to edit the articles to support Guantanamo.
I could see your point if the article read "military IPs used to edit wikipedia", but this is being financed by the government. Lt. Col. Ed Bush came right out and said that their "mass communications specialist" was just doing his job.
Yes, but the VH1 show was basically free advertising for YT, since that's where all the videos came from, and that's where you have to go to see them again.
If you're talking about the previews at the beginning of the movie, even if it doesn't let you fast forward, just skip forward a chapter until you get to the root menu.
This would actually be pretty nice. Just have it in your pants, and then have a cord coming out into your pocket, powering something like your phone or your mp3 player.
The summary for a Slashdot article misleading? Impossible! Here at Slashdot, we hold our articles to the highest standards, higher even than those at the National Enquirer and World Weekly News. It is nearly impossible for our staff to publish any article with any factual innaccuracy.
NOTE: I do not work for/. (just before the complaints start flooding in).
My school had specific computers set aside for this sort of thing. They had about six computers set aside from the rest that were labeled EMAIL computers and students could access AIM or check their email from them. Of course, I could check my email from any computer, but you couldn't get in trouble for using these.
An interesting concept for sure. I wonder if they're still there.
Now, take this guy who appears to have nothing to lose personally by handing over the tape and, honestly, probably not much to lose for the protestors - surely they're not going to begrudge him handing over a tape and avoiding 6 months in jail to save them the same fate! If they do, then they're seriously not worth protecting. Either way! Unless of course he happens to be protesting against his being subpoenaed even though he should be protected under California's Shield Laws, which protect journalists from being required to turn over unaired footage.

However, the only writing you need to do for a card game would be the instructions, so that's hardly worth mentioning.

Yes, because the price of bottled water is why people blow up planes.
*whoosh*
Perhaps the parent needed sarcasm tags, just for you?
Hell, all I want is a cup of tea.
Umm... yeah, this actually is a real link. Way to go, mods.
It links to http://www.realsimple.com/realsimple/package/0,21861,1683690-1133623-3,00.html.
When one of their chief complaints is "programs written for Mac and Windows will not run," you know something is wrong with the review.

Fair enough.
:)
I'll admit I was expecting something more along the lines of:
"Wha? But my host promised me no ads on my free site!" Or something along those lines.
And yes, you do know your stuff.
So, does it usually help or hurt your job prospects when your interviewer sees the links to porn at the bottom of the page?
I mean, I don't think you can get a job based on the quality of your smutty smutty chicks links.
Sure, if you had absolutely no idea what precedent was.

So have a failsafe. If the monitoring system loses power/breaks, enable backup lighting.

You know you're going to have to say that at least 15 more times in this topic, right?
Next thing you know, they'll be saying, "The internet is a blade of grass. There are many cells, all connected by..."
Damn, I don't remember high school biology.
apparently we're descending from not reading TFA to not reading TF blurb
ok, who marked the parent insightful?

If we block any obscene content, our people will become fine, upstanding citizens. And don't tell me to RTFA, because it's in Norwegian.

Can you say "Head on! Apply directly to the forehead!"
