I haven't watched the video (its still downloading) but after reading some of the comments it seems that spammers try to circumvent the most popular spam blockers. SO after watching this video, if the best spam blocker becomes the most popular, won't that then make it less effective?
Dammit. If that happens I'll have to waste another day downloading the next video.
I'm surprised nobody brought up the issue of accuracy (or maybe I missed it). Sure all the suggestions about only using keyboards are fine for *nix type people who despise GUI but what about the graphics people? These devices that put the work on your arm rahter than your wrists/fingers are fine for large movements but your arm was never meant for precision. This type of device would be impossible for photoshop etc. Imagine trying to write a letter with a pen and paper without moving your wrists or fingers. (It would probably look the same for me since my handwriting is terrible)
Of course there are tablets like the wacom but be prepared to shell out about $200 for a decent one.
I personally block ads because they are distracting. I hate trying to read interesting content with bright colored or even flashing images all over the page. I'm not so concerned about bandwidth or processor since I'm not using much when reading an article or blog.
There is some legitimacy to recommending their own payment system. Think about the US legal system. If "some American" used Ebay and a third party payment system and got ripped off by the payment company, you KNOW they'd try to sue Ebay as well for negligence or something. By strongly encoraging thier own payment service it adds some legal protection and makes dispute resolution much easier.

If I take the used media back to the store and prove that I only used it for my own material they should give me back my copyright tax!!
