  1. Re:Three words: on Guitar Hero II For 360 Extra Tracks, Hands On · · Score: 1

Sure, it works fine only FoF lacks the HO and PO features of GH and GHII and playing the original tracks only highlights how much better the 'real' games are. That is unless FoF now has HO and PO; I've not looked at it for a while, it's just not the same.

Only for the the parent. For the child, they just suck ;)

Network hard disk or on some other machine.

  4. Re:heavy windows usage = 0, anything else = defaul on How Much Virtual Memory is Enough? · · Score: 1

There's a single issue I take up with the above post. Just loading a bunch of applications won't give a good indication of memory usage. Load of some work with them, projects or code. Open a few web pages, etc... Those apps will start to grab more memory leading to a more accurate indication of memory use. Devstudio, for example, just shot up from 60MB to 260MB just opening a project. Never mind actually trying to build something :)

  5. Super Metroid on 5 Gorgeous 2D Games · · Score: 1

Seemingly non-retro article, perhaps. The inclusion of Metal Slug may suggest otherwise but was released on current gen platforms. So where's Super Metroid? That's a beautiful game. Little things like the unique sprites for each of Samus' directions, how she breaths when just standing around. Flora and fauna also beautifully drawn and still not surpassed by GBA outings.

  6. Re:This can only work out in ONE way on More 'Hero' Games Without Guitars Likely · · Score: 1

Great point there. The other thing with alternative instruments is the music that accompanies them too. Guitar? Great, tons of rawk and indie out there to draw from. Drums? Hmmm.... OK, we have Genesis there which is reason enough to not even think about doing that one. Who in the world wants to imitate Phil Collins?!

Band Hero, great idea even with Singstar mics. Maybe not as a co-op game (Hey, you suck get outta the band!) but as a competitive-score game it'd be ace. Like the Commitments, only with less (or more?) sex.
