At which point you use the firmware emulator that lets you do that with an easy to use installer. You don't have to 'flash your own bios'. A lot of users update firmware to play a new game anyway.

Old news.. but still, it all depends on how well the drive caches. If it's writing useless data it's worthless... a swapfile to "slower" memory could be nice.
If the embryos never achieve consciousness, there's nothing wrong in my eyes with creating them to harvest stem cells. They'd never have grown into fully developed babies anyway.

Grow them and harvest cells = no chance to live. Don't grow them = no chance to live. It's not like the cells are harvested from random babies...
