touting this as state propaganda, or a stuxnet comeback, remember the US did this with the tupolev aircraft around the middle of the cold war. To this day the tupolev still sees service in many european and baltic countries.

just because something first world comes from a country you've marginalized as third world, doesnt mean it isnt a neat idea or an interesting endeavor. Countries america has sought to demonize in the past such as russia, have consistently met or exceeded western social and technological standards with things like free mass public transit, lower mortality rates, and in the case of our soviet friends technological advances such as the first LED light, the first lunar robotic moon rover and manned space flight.

congratulations are in order, slashdot, for we are nerds and this is newsworthy of nerds. Iran has built a supercomputer, and naturally your first question should be "will it run linpac," not "are they building the evil muslim nukes." My questions to the scientists would be, how fast is it? what is it built from? will you use it to perhaps enhance your recent satellite projects and nuclear medical program, or is the supercomputer open to time slots like a university?

the thing to remember is this is news for nerds, and stuff that matters. so the summary can be completely disregarded after its title as the author flagrantly touted a bit of bias at the end that makes the story just a smear piece at best. to think that any telecommunications network is inherently superior to another without at least a technical summary of its legitimate capabilities and systems is ludicrous.

using a dedicated/shared server for email hosting has its drawbacks. the shared server may become overloaded by spammer accounts and other users, and its generally not a priority for most hosting companies as they get very little money off a shared hosting sale. dedicated hosting is just as bad because you're commonly forced through one relay host, or a set of relay hosts that routinely become overwhelmed by spammers on your providers other dedicated hosting boxes. the dedicated and shared boxes are also notorious for floating in and out of various blacklists and sender reputation services, so you can expect mail to break-down about once every few weeks.
