From the article: He has visions of cities that glow from within, and buildings whose windows need not be flat, rectangular panes, but can be arbitrary regions of transparency within flowing, curving walls.
That sure sounds remarkably like Apple's philosophy...
For years man thought the moon was composed entirely of cheese. In 1969, we finally made the journay to discover the truth. After three years of manned exploration, we found no cheese. Thirty years later, we've yet to return.
I've been around diesel vehicles of one sort or another for quite some time and have never been bothered by the smell. In fact, I dislike the smell of gasoline exhaust more than diesel. But in either case, unless you plaster your nose right to the tailpipe, it's not that noticable.
In a disposable, you are actually rewinding it while you shoot each picture, it comes unwound inside the camera already.
That's actually not that unusual. My dad has a Canon EOS Rebel II (very nice camera for 8 or so years ago) that pulls all of the film out when you first insert the roll and then pulls it back in as you snap pictures.
Al the current taxes on Fuel are due to violation of pollution statues in the US.
A great deal of the tax on fuel (such as gasoline and diesel) goes towards the upkeep of roads. That's why you can purchase "on-road" and "off-road" fuel. If you can prove you're not using the fuel on a public road, then you generally don't have to pay the road tax.
The washers and other hardware on the space station are most likely stainless steel (316), which makes them non-magnetic. So, I don't think magnets would help....
I hate to burst your bubble, but stainless steel is composed of steel, chromium, and some other metals. Steel, in turn, is composed of iron, which is magnetic.
You may want to try manually updating the files included in the patch. I'm not sure, but it may just be as simple as replacing a handful of files with the updated ones...
Hopefully, using satellite photographs of this resolution could help reduce the chance of such mistakes happening again.
Well, this satellite may help Mexico's situation a little bit, if they only use the b&w images (at the 61cm resolution). Aerial photos (from an airplane) are typically about 1 meter resolution.
Sidenote: Even in the US, property tax descriptions can never be relyed upon for land surveying purposes due to their oftentimes wild inaccuracies.
I've been getting most of my cooling supplies from 3dcool.com. They've got pretty good stuff. They have some external laptop fans (such as a PCMCIA fan).
Please note: Turning Selective Availablity off DOES NOT provide civilians with US military-grade GPS.
The satellites transmit two codes. A "C/A" code and a "P" code. Civilian receivers can only decode the C/A code, which provides a positioning precision of about 30 to 40 meters (w/o SA). P code is only available to the military and other authorized users (such as NATO) and provides a postioning precision of approximatley 16 meters.
Turning SA off was a big help, but did you think the US Gov't was really that nice?:)

They do. It's even free if your AGI was less than $25,000.

The SI swimsuit calendar has dates on it? Huh... I guess it does. Never noticed that before...

Am I bored? No. Am I trying to put off homework? Yes. :)
Here's the small and large images of Columbia.
I'm curious... what causes some stainless steel to be magnetic and other stainless steel to not be?

I stand corrected.

Bottom line: stainless steel is magnetic.
You may find this interesting... It spells out what side of the road each country drives on (66% of the world's population drives on the right).

Gotten any new credit cards lately? Last I checked, you always have to activate those.

That link wasn't in the original posting. Apparantly, they updated the story without the usual "update" notice.
Space.com has some pictures of MIR's re-entry. MIR hit the water at 05:58 GMT Mar 23.
Uhhh... They already do. It's called cable TV. Most of those movie channels don't have any ads.
Don't forget... The Egyptions had "modern" earth moving equipment too.
Sidenote: Diesel engines are actually more efficient than gasoline engines.
