  1. This wont work. on Anti-Matter's Potential in Treating Cancer · · Score: -1

A few reasons why this won't work: a) Portability. Antimatter can't be contained in a small enough space for it to be clinically feasible. b) There's no way to get antimatter inside of you without cutting a hole in you. Which kinda defeats the purpose. c) This is like trying to treat baldness with a nuke. It's overkill. d) The radiation won't be able to be contained easily, and so therefore will probably kill the rest of you. But hey, at least the cancer will be gone.

  2. You should go with a TI-89, if just for testing on The Best Graphing Calculator on the Market? · · Score: 1

Don't get me wrong, the TI-89 isn't the best calculator out there. Almost every calculator mentioned above has more functions and more little gadgets. But the reason I'm suggesting the 89 is for two reasons- 1) a strong user base and wide variety of free apps for it, and 2) you can use it on (almost) any test that allows calculators. A lot of these mentioned above you won't be able to use on SAT IIs, ACTs, NMSQT, etc, but you can with the 89. It might even be worth it to get an 89 even if just for taking tests. Also, I wouldn't get anything with a QWERTY keyboard because *no* high-school teacher will let you take *any* test with what looks like a "mini-computer" (It's happened to me).

  3. This doens't mean anything. on String Theory Put to the Test · · Score: 1

This isn't going to prove or disprove anything. The LHC is just looking for the existence of particles theorized to exist with classical high-energy particle physics. The only way string theory could be tested is if it could actually make a prediction that can be put to a test. Unfortunately, it can't predict how fast a ball will fall from the top of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Kinda sad how a theory that's had tens of thousands of man-hours wasted on it can't predict anything at all, no?
