definitely. See Microsoft is common for most people. There are people who like Macs and people who are into Linux but it is true that the majority is Microsoft and that it's more convenient to use Microsoft since it is so widely available. Some of my friends don't even know what Linux is let alone want to use it over Microsoft or Macintosh. But IE doesn't "mesh" well with me. My cousin was the one who told me to get Firefox and I did. There are only very few things like the SAT practice online for Princeton Review, that I ever use IE for, and I think eventually that will be available on FireFox.
Oh for sure. As soon as I saw the headline I thought...duh. Well, my philosophy class in school talked about it too. If people are all ubersanitized these days, contact with practically ANYTHING could trigger some kind of unpleasant reaction. So clean freak parents trying to safeguard their kids from freakin everything will have kids who are like...allergic to everything, or get sick so easily. It's the way that people evolve I guess.
Most people who get microsoft on their computers and have IE already there normally don't care to, don't know how to, or are just too lazy to change their browser. No matter what for some reason I always get firefox. My brother has the newer version of IE but I still don't like it. Maybe I'm just too used to FF. Or maybe the fact still remains that IE sucks.
Definitely. See I don't understand the point of everything all HD and crap. Like yeah it's cool to see things more clearly...but why?
It's like the point of movies. I'm not much of a movie person, so really movies are a way for some person to write some script like every single other one out there and get someone to make it into a stupid movie with overpaid actors that can't act and aren't even that great looking so all those people can make money and normal people like us can spend our like 9 bucks and 2 hours watching it.
I don't care about the pattern on Drew Barrymore's shirt (no offense) and I don't want to see what brand of jeans whoever is wearing on tv. I want to go out with my friends and spend time with my family. And all this HD crap makes all the actors and famous people all insecure. Because now we can see their wrinkles or whatever. And they can get all complainy and get plastic surgery. Or not. And the public can go criticize them for that, on top of their acting.
I think we understand that "back in the day" a laptop was much heavier than they are now, but the fact is, everything is changing and the point is that, laptops now are NOT at least 10 pounds. There have been innovations and inventions and not necessarily needs of the people, but the way society has evolved makes it harder to settle. More people want more stuff and less weight to carry around. Everything for easy use but can do more. The concept is interesting, and will probably be very popular as soon as it is perfected and marketed correctly, but things have changed. We should be thankful for what we have now and still keep in mind that it wasn't always like it is now. And respect those who have worked hard to get where they are and just be in awe at how many things have changed.
oh i definitely agree. I don't have all that many important accounts but some things that require the credit card number, SSN, etc, are pretty important. And a few of my passwords differ and I understand that other people go through the same thing. Looking at it from a sixteen year old n00b POV, I never realized how important internet securtity is. A password needs to be something that the user can remember, fits the criteria of whatever place they're making an account for, and something that would be difficult to hack into. Another question is what kind of things are people so desperate into hacking into? Major bank accounts sure, but the uberobsessiveness of NeoPets in protecting their users...that is just depressing. They have so much security for it. All over fake points and stuff and pets. Yeah, I love it and use it, but still. Ah, but I digress. There really are only so many ways to make a password. Its just hackers that annoy me.
i have a myspace and to be honest, all these little girls crying because some creepy old guy hit on her or meeting someone in real life and getting raped and murdered...they all 100% deserve it. Myspace is a place for friends. Finding old friends, your current friends, people you all have in common, family members from far away. I mean seriously. If you post all these pictures of yourself and your information and some random person finds it, maybe you'll get attention. It's ridiculous and not worth suing if some guy just hits on you. And claiming theres no way to verify age, etc...If you don't like it, don't use it. Easy enough.

I agree most definitely.
