    Let MS's Hotmail division deal with the consequences, but when it comes to registration requiired proprietary software, I always use a drop account. They can spam me all they want, I never access those accounst anyway.

    it's just one more M$ tax that we'll all be forced to pay. Imagine buying a computer online in a future where you are forced to buy M$ software and OS using and M$ wallet that they profit from. I think Bill is trying to take too many bites out of the pie... how about you?

    The problem here is that the government's mentality is the same one that they use in gun legislation. In the end, it will only be the criminals who they aren't controlling. Go figure.

    It's "suit-speak" because articles such as this are targeted at the suits.

    What he means by "new software business model" is that linux is a viable software alternative for businesses (duh... like we didn't already know that!). The reason he says "new" is because, to be brutaly honest, the corporate world is very slow on the uptake. Just look at how long it has taken them to even consider linux... now that it is being considered it will be a few more years before any in-roads are really made.

    Here is Taxachusetts we have a saying that I think fits in well with these people... "Light dawns on Marblehead"
