    Quite its helping NASSA with its budget - and its not uncommon to have rnd establishments on airfields Cranfield had a ton of rnd companies - and they had a company that rebuilt spitfires as a sideline watching the mkIX go out for a test flight was one of the coolest things ever - we all went out and watched from about 50 foot when they refuled it and wathed the oiks jump on the tailplane just like in WW2.

    If a lot of the big DC's are lights out they could use the jet to ship in new computers and techs to them which could cost in - when I worked on the campus at CIT it costed in to hire a light plane when we went of site having 4 or 5 expensive guys sitting in a van driving the length of the country.

    have you have neaver heard of plumbers often taking advantage of elderly customers to sell unneeded bolier upgrades then? - there was a few news articles about this in the UK last year british Gas wher bonusing there engineers on selling new boilers even if the origional boiler just needed trivial maintanance.

    Car mechanics takeing advatage of females as they dont no anthying about cars is another example.

    yes its one of the distinguishing features of professions compared to blue colar jobs

    well 802.11n is ethernet just uses a diferent layer 1 and bits of layer 2.

    Slight problem in capacity as you need one ap per 10-15 Stations(hosts/pc's) imagine trying to kit out a 1200 seat building just using wifi you looking at 120-150 ap's just to get basic service.

    Your backbone, servers and the DS (Distribution system) are going to still need a wired infrastructure plus the extra security kit needed for wifi access.

    you depoly them in triplets (on chanels 1 6 and 11) to get max coverage Cisoc also do some nice controller switches to manage a whole unch of AP's

    These arn't realy consumer bits of kit.

    And that children is why grown ups use proper networking equipment(aka cisco,juniper,hp) wtf where they running dhcp on linux for any how do it on the routers they much more robust use less power etc.

    I suspect the op wants a system to sync a database not just copy files from a to b.

    use Asynconous Queues MSMQ is what msoft call this when the lap top connects the data gets processed -

    I looked at this and set up a test for one of the new registry's a while back (to handle acounting transactions - the registry proper ran on Unix)  the CTO poo pood the idea but in the end i belive they went with it.

    well a lot a smugeling goes on on the border of NI (used to be easy because of the troubles) and uk farmers have been known to use farm diesel in there private cars.

    If you overload a power suply it can overheat and cause fires for example. You have seen the damaged cause by the exploding laptop havn't you.

    your trying to relate totaly diferent technologys to pc technology (well embeded systems in the case of this cpu)

    its not like a car where a basic bmw 5 series functions as a car just as well as the sports modifed M5.

    yeh take your A rated washing machine back hire and  an eastern european woman to take you clothes down the the river it will be cheaper and much more energy efficiant.

    re 3l suv it would probably be a Diesel and probably running on bootleg farm fuel to boot - do irish farmers get the same deals (tax payer subsidy) the Uk ones do?

    yeh but in the UK you just buy a classic over a certain number of years old and no tax you can get a nice starter Ferari for around 8-9k in the Uk now ;-)
