  1. Simplified Spelling on Is Simplified Spelling Worth Reform? · · Score: 1

hey, there isn't a real problem with the way we spell other than the stupid ways english handles its vowels, like : BIOS (Bee-Os) and BIOS (Bye-Os) [wish i had a phonetical character map] but i think you get the point, the word could be pronounced either way, [but i prefer Bye-Os because it is more respected tword the acronyms meaning]. but you can get rid of a few consonants as well, and about the double letters, just adopt like a greek symbol, maybe theta to replace it. anyway, i have friends from other countries and the hardest part about learning english is the spelling and pronunciation(written), so sad...

Yes I agree shouldn't this release have gone out like 20 years ago? (Microsoft)I know lets build a piece of crap and try to pass it off as an operating system! Umm, hello Microsoft's software is completely faulty, don't get me started on the file system or the way they access devices, please Microsoft Just give up. Microsoft Windows is a dinosaur they need to completely replace the system which is what they're planning to do but not just for that but because they don't want to crash c-5 galaxy loaded with lead. They are taking a big risk but if they keep their bologna up with trying to please the user instead of making the program and even the whole system itself stable first then they're already doomed. If you use windows then well i'm sorry for you and if you use only because it came with the computer, then shame on you. Why wait for windows new "system" to come out when there are much more stable systems like OSX and Linux? I don't know about some of you but did you really think that Apple adopting the Intel processor really betrayed the company or opened doors for the company and other people to take advantage of Microsoft's shortcomings?

  3. Both optical and magnetic on DVD Format War Already Over? · · Score: 1

I use both optical and magnetic backups the optical ones i usually don't trust because they can become scratched very easily, i know what some would problably say magnetic drive are problably no good for back up but i have several seagate hard disks that i'm sure are about 15 to twenty years old and when i took them out of an old computer i had purchased the data on the disks was 100% readable! (it had pc-dos loaded) and now i use it as a backup for my encrypted data because i'm sorry but you just can't do that with an optical drive i have to use it in real time and use my SFS driver to store my data. i trust my magnetic drive more than my optical.
