  1. "Has fact checking become so hard that even the reporters, looking at you msmash, are unwilling to do their job and perpetuate the fake news target? "

    Why yes, yes it has.

  2. Or in other words, "Fake News"".

"which began Saturday after President Donald Trump refused to sign legislation that didn't include funding for his southern border wall."

President Trump cannot sign legislation that hasn't been approved by both houses of Congress, and the "McConnell/Schumer Shutdown" is the result of the SENATE's failure to pass the budget. Schumer is adamant that there will be no border wall, and McConnell is content to let Schemer continue to hold the budget hostage. Americans by and large WANT a border wall; that was Trump's biggest promise, and he was elected on that promise.

However, the lack of USGS support isn't hampering Indonesia's efforts at all; it's merely the only thing anybody can think of to cite as the "catastrophic effects" of a partial shutdown of 25% of the US Federal government.

  3. Obama's royal decree concerning "network neutrality" was badly flawed, but I think the CONCEPT is worthwhile.Let's see how Congress does in working out viable law, which would actually be enforceable, where the FCC was making it up as they went along. And now, since any law would need to be passed by both the Democrat House and the Republican Senate, AND signed by President Trump, we're likely to get a much better law.

Actually, the United States is far ahead of any other nations in meeting our "targets" for CO2 reduction, even though the US _never ratified_ the climate treaty; President Obama never bothered to submit it to the Senate, because there was no possibility of it being adopted. But none of the nations that ARE bound by the treaty, such as France and Germany, are reducing their CO2 emissions at all. The USA is able to meet those "targets" that it never actually agreed to by closing coal-fired power plants and building cleaner natural gas plants.

The Chinese are building MANY new coal-fired plants, so they will never be able to reduce their CO2 emissions. And Germany is closing their nuclear power plants, so they also have apparently given up trying to meet their CO2 reduction targets.

Not that any of this matters, since the Sun is probably going into a period of slightly reduced output. I expect that those of you who live to see it (I will not) will be feeling somewhat chilly by 2050 or so. Remember that George Washington's armies dragged cannon across the FROZEN Hudson River in the 1780s, and London used to have "Frost Faires", temporary buildings on the FROZEN Thames River. Perhaps you'll be able to do that again!

"Science" is never "settled", and those who claim that it is don't understand how science works. There are ALWAYS new things to learn. Even the best theories are subject to modification in the light of new facts. Please remember that Brown and Gore are both failed seminarians, and are creating a RELIGION where they couldn't hack it in their own.

CO2 isn't the only factor in the climate. The SUN is the biggest factor, and the Sun _also_ changes in cycles.
The climate is ALWAYS changing; always have, always will. We didn't cause it, and we can't prevent it.
