Too bad the Prius costs way too much to make this even close to economical. By the time you finally end up covering the extra money you spent on the prius, its been well past the time you should buy a new car anyways. Oh, and you are stuck with a crappy looking compact that can only fit you in it, and nothing else.
I realize everyone says that biometrics isnt a secure authenticator by itself, but wouldnt you say a retinal scan would be a bit harder to copy than a key? I would think biometrics are just as reliable as an rfid card or a key right now, but much more convenient. I think thats the ultimate issue here, is convenience, because its easy to lose a key, but how often do you misplace your eyeballs??
Even if they do pass this, remember who they are "banning" from computer... hackers. I'm pretty sure that these hackers will be able to use computers/internet anyways even if they are banned. If they are already committing cybercrimes, I doubt some legislation banning them from the internet (and any other blocks from an ISP) is going to keep them off.
All they had to do was buy one billboard, now everyone in America knows about the racist ad, oh and they know about the white psp too. These guys really know how to get the bang for the buck in advertising.
Its just like the current console war, people are already dogging a product that isnt even out yet! From what it sounds like, it'll do the same thing an ipod video will do right now, but with a bigger screen and wifi capabilities, oh and you dont have to pay the ridiculous markup just to get a picture of an apple on it. Let's wait and give this product a shot before we start all the ms bashing as usual.
With states like oklahoma passing laws against selling violent games to children... they might have a problem on their hands with age verification. Or maybe they wont be able to sell games with lots of violence online, crippling them back down to the simple games of xbox live arcade.
Yeah, did anyone else realize that only THREE people out of 40 on their cellphones rear ended the car??? A whopping 7.5% Which makes me believe that these people just suck at driving to begin with. I really cant stand "tests" like these that cannot produce any meaningful results due to a low sample size. I highly doubt that any of the four groups are significantly different from each other using a standard anova test. Gotta hate that though, you cant really trust any statistics that you read unless they have all the statistical tests and details out in the open for you to see.
So who's gonna pay for this data retention?? If the government wants it backed up so bad, then they should probably supply the means for it. Who knew that 9/11 would cost us so much of our freedom?? I mean seriously everyone doesn't really care when they start taking away our rights slowly. "Hey its only a wiretap on my phone...no big deal."
"Its only a government issued ID card that I must carry everywhere in public" Which slowly leads into "Its only a GPS tracker implanted into my brain, so the gov't knows where I am at all times...but its for my own saftey!! Those terrorists blew up the world trade center 10 years ago, no telling when they will strike again!" Seriously, the government has carried this 9/11 bullshit way too far, and now everyone is afraid of terrorism, so the government can do whatever they want, AND PEOPLE WELCOME IT!
Why is everyone just assuming that people running a pirated copy of windows is just going to switch to mac or linux?? Pretty sure these people know that linux is free right now, yet they still use windows (which is free to them anyways) I wouldnt be surprised if a good majority of the pirates need windows, and end up paying for it.

Im I the only one wondering what the hell this has to do with our online rights?? It was on a private INTRANET for god sakes...

http://news.com.com/2100-1002_3-6046197.html Pretty sure macs have their fair share of security holes, they just havent been widely exploited yet.
