Uhh, considering that my laptop runs at 1.2GHz, has 1GB RAM and runs a fancy desktop with flying 3D windows and even more eye candy than Vista, I would think a 2GH machine should be fine...
They are still improving it, judging by the release notes, but I guess the number of lines of code was not sufficient to register against the likes of Redhat and IBM.
Yup, I got a few suggestions (email with source code) included into the kernel by others. Many people cannot afford the effort required to configure a system in order to create a clean patch that can be submitted properly, so it is frequently better to email code to the real maintainer who can copy paste and test it and then submit a patch together with his own work.
XP has horrid bugs in its networking stack. If Vista fixes that, so that your damn desktop PC doesn't freeze up when a server on the other side of the planet goes down, then it would be worth it already.
Windows is pretty damn good nowadays, but my Linux web server only goes down when the ISP has a power problem. That happens about once a year. In four years, the machine rebooted 5 times and never once due to Linux.
Whenever I have to fix a screwed up PC, MsAfee or Symantec is disabled by the malicious code. So, I always uninstall whatever is on the machine and install something else like AVG or ClamWin.
One would hope that the $20k version includes the microwave transceiver - but yeah, I have made my fair share of home brew antennas and they generally work better than the carelessly made factory ones. Using a wok is a good idea - nice and sturdy.
Yeah friggen right - XML has so much superfluous bracketitice, that it is pretty much unreadable by any human, unless maybe you send through a 'grep ignore' filter first...
That is nothing - Nelson Mandela collected 140 tons of real ammonium nitrate and 250,000 grenades 40 years ago and he went on to become president of South Africa...
That is OK - having Linux pre-installed, proves that the hardware works and that all drivers are available. Then you can go ahead an re-install if you wish. Anyhoo, I have never found a Dell that Linux won't run on.
Yes, and it is not like a truck, you can only send so many waves down a tube...

What? Something of value happened outside the US borders? That is absurd.

RAM that isn't used, is RAM that is wasted. Linux does the same thing. Nothing wrong with it - quite the contrary really.
Hmm, and it doesn't seem quite ready for anything else either...

When an aluminium wok starts to rust, it is time to move to a less polluted area...

Their pictographs turned into NULs in ASCII... ;)
AFAIK they work with the NSA on things like SELinux and AES.
I guess the work done by the NSA on SELinux is so secret that they are not listed... ;)
Flue is a virus and most OSS is proud to be immune to viruses...
Hmm, teenagers are sharing whole DVDs full of MP3s. That must be a great bandwidth saver...

Some blokes were in jail for a long time without ever hearing why. It is through their court action that it got struck down.
Se Linux is probably a better idea than chroot.
Not in America though. Linux is big in Europe, South Africa, Brazil and so on. However, in the USA, everyone wears Windows blinkers.

but it is a nice story anyway.
Selling Price - Cost of Sales = Profit
Therefore tax is very little and should not be calculated on the gross.
It just means that sellers must do their bookkeeping properly.
Most people sell second hand schtuff and don't really make any profit at all.
