So how do you bind an asp.net 2.0 gridview to a linq to sql datasource via an objectdatasource and support 2 way databinding, paging, sorting, using only poco objects outside of the data access layer, where the generated sql queries are clean and efficient?

This exactly. My one year old classifies animals as either ducks or doggies. At first, 'doggie' only referred to our dog, but now everything with fur is a doggie. Everything that is bird-like is a duck. Her usage is not always technically correct, but she is consistent about only using them to refer to some sort of animal. Interestingly, she will also classify stuffed animals and other animal-shaped toys as ducks or doggies.

She does say mama and daddy (pronounced as da-dee), but her usage appears to be random and does not always refer to her father or myself. When we say Mommy or Daddy she seems to know who we are talking about, but she does not connect her usage of the word to a particular person.

She also uses some other 'words' that appear to have a special meaning, but don't really sound like any particular word in English. She says something unintelligible that starts with a 'b' sound to refer to her bottle and she makes a sound like 'meh' for when she wants more food or a toy that is out of her reach.

Part of the problem is that women, without exception, are expected to put that level of attention, responsibility and dedication into their home and family. Husbands are not always understanding when their wife has to go into the office at 3am to fix a problem and they are left with a crying baby or an empty refrigerator. A man can have a time-intensive career and a wife and children, but a woman has to find a pretty exceptional husband in order to have both.

My brother was diagnosed with a pituitary tumor when he was 22 years old. He had health insurance, but his monthly out-of-pocket expenses for medication, lab work, and doctor visits still consumed over half of his take home pay. These expenses continued for almost 2 years. They only reduced after he had gamma knife radiation and he was able to stop some of the medications and didn't need MRIs as frequently. I'm not sure how someone who is in their twenties could possible have enough money saved to cover any type of medical catastrophe.

Firstly, "no good reason" is not sufficient for making it a crime - you have to show why it is bad.

Pedophiles have been known to use porn as a way of desensitizing children to sexual activity. Perhaps I wasn't clear enough about why I don't want pedophiles to show my children porn, but I really didn't think that point would need further explanation. I am open to the possibility that there could be good reasons to expose children to porn, however I can't think of any. Since there is a clearly understood bad reason and not a single good reason, I believe intentionally showing children pornographic images should be a crime.

I don't mind it being a crime, but is 40 years in prison proportionate? Surely she'd have got less if she'd physically attacked a child...?

If you continued to read the second paragraph of my extremely short post, you would also see my answer to this point. I will repeat it again: I don't believe this incident was a crime. The entire situation is absolutely ridiculous. If the incident is not a crime, it would logically follow that prison time or any other punishment is inappropriate.

It's a crime to expose children to pornographic images. I don't know about you, but I can't think of any good reason for adults to show porn to children. As a parent, I certainly want legal recourse if some creepy pedophile showed porn to my precious little snowflakes.

That being said, I don't believe this incident was a crime. The entire situation is absolutely ridiculous.

My 13 y/o stepdaughter receives an obscene amount of cash and gift cards for birthdays and holidays. During Christmas, it's not unusual for her to collect $300 - $500 from our friends and family. Easter will yield $200 - $300. This doesn't even include what she receives from her mother's side of the family.

I've encouraged family members to give less money, but that leads them to give in secret. I finally gave up. I found it's better if we know what she's getting so we can intercept some of it and put it in savings.
