    I'm sorry, but why do we want users like this using linux?

    Why do we need to be the #1 OS? It's depressing the more automated everything becomes in linux... and I use Debian - not exactly the distro with the reputation for hand holding.

    What is the point of upgrading?

    I keep reading on dot.kde.org of people switching from Debian and Ubuntu to open suse simply for their KDE 4 packages.

    I am fine using experimental, but I could certainly see the appeal since most distro are (to the user these days) all about the desktop.

    Where is the source for enemy territory? Where is the source for Quake 4 or Doom3? Fuck, where is the source for google earth?

    None of the programs require me to compile them for them to work.

    As far as the bug linked for changes upstream (#477454,) is that seriously the best example of Debian not sharing changes back upstream?

    It seems more like an attempt to show that a maintainer was being petty which is not what the article was about.

    Does anyone one really think that this change would have been accepted upstream (or even have had a place for it there?)

    Then, they show more knowledge and send it to the wrong department.
