LOL I have to say I have never found Ubuntu easier to install than Debian. (Well I guess Ubuntu has a live cd installer but for me that just takes longer. If I am going to install it, I don't need to good into a full KDE or Gnome environment to do it.)
For the vast majority of cubiclemonkeys and home users of Windows, Windows Explorer (the taskbar, the icons, the My Documents window...) IS Windows. If Explorer locks up, they consider that a Windows "crash."
This line of thinking is not the ignorant laypersons thinking. It is tied directly with the way MS markets their system. They themselves call IE and even Media Player part of the OS.I remember them countlessly making that point when users complained about not being able to uninstall these programs.
That is the 'practical' definition, but I've had many release candidates where new functionality has been added either as a result of sheer customer demand, or if it was just too complicated.
Yes, but they do not (or should not) hit RC status with the expectation of bugs and new feature to be fixed or added later. It defeats the point of RC versions versus beta versions.
The biggest jump in overall desirability between VHS and DVD and Tape to CDS wasn't the quality, it was the usability
Another example would be when laserdiscs came out. They offered a better picture and they looked kind of cool, but how many people really enjoyed getting up every 45 minutes to flip the disc over.
It does feel like ruin some of your pride when you are pushing your way through a game that everyone you know beat two days ago.
I am not saying this is rational but for me it does take some of my steam.
"There are some that have become absolutely nessesary for me, such as aspellfox, flashblock, adblock, and the web developer extension."
You can chose aspell or myspell or whatever you desire in konqueror. Just set it in kcontrol.
Adblock has been in konqueror since (I believe) 3.4. It works well. You can even export your adblock list into konqueror.
I use 64 bit so I can't use flash on either browser so it does not need to be blocked so I can't compare there.
Heck, it even has a web page translator built into it.
Any page that requires ie or firefox are usually because they just check for them, not for any other reason. Agent checker is built in for that. I have had it work with much success (even though it annoys me to have to do it.)
I try firefox every now and then (in fact started with it) but I always find myself coming back to konqueror.
Not a good reason when they say this on the supported browsers page "We've heard from some folks who run Writely running on Linux, but don't support it because there have been too many problems with it"
Install gdebi
When you download the deb all you need to do is single click -much easier than double clicking:) - the deb. It will install the package and any depencies that it needs.
I was fortunate to skip to the end. That was enough to make the rest not worth reading.
To change Stallman from an idealist to some who is just cheap made the article unforgivable.

or they used copy and paste
All no except "Can I play it on more than one device?" and even that has a catch.
What the f**k are you talking about? I thought I switched to the wrong tab for a second.
"Everyone who wanted to register had to check a box saying that A) They were over 13, and B) they read the terms of service."
I understand expecting your point A but expecting someone under 13 to read a terms of service. I can't remember the last one I actually read
I though google was opening up their own open source repository http://www.newsforge.com/article.pl?sid=06/07/27/1 833251
You've never read the prodigal son
"- Not being able to burn as a non-root user. WTF?" Spend 30 minutes before I figured that one out
Wow!! Nice try for a tier change of topic.
I wish more people wouldn't. What better way to force MS to start complying with standards?
Then we can start seeing sites that say to IE users that their browser is not supported (not that I am bitter.)
I thought that made it a rc (http://it.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=06/09/01/21 29200)

Convenience goes a long way.
You can make them work by unpacking the extension and changing the supported version or by installing the nightly tester extentsion.

That was actually pretty interesting.

"My only real complaint is that the adblock feature needs a lot of work to catch up with the Firefox extension." You will probably like this http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=3 8915
I wonder if the SCO will sue Arch for that? (Actually with SCO's track record they probably will.)

It just starts to go slower and slower and slower.... much better
