Nah, Dennis miller is a conservative former comedian. Back when he was still doing comedy, it was pretty centrist, with the social aspect leaning a bit to the left.

After 9/11 made him shit his pants, he started being conservative, and stopped being a comedian, opting to move his "big words and obscure references" style into punditry, where it works about as well as you might expect.

He is still to the left on social issues (abortion, gay marriage, etc.)

And moreover, if Mozilla hired a CEO who said that women shouldn't be allowed to vote, and that black people should be returned to slavery, is it wrong to call for a boycott?

As much as the religionists try to spin it, Prop 8 isn't much different.

You really do not see much difference between not giving a marriage licence versus slavery and denying people the right to vote?

The fact that most people who are against gay marriage are for gay civil unions, it seems to definitely be one driven by religious beliefs.

You really can't compare denying someone a marriage certificate is anywhere near the same ballpark as denying someone the right to vote / ride in the front of the bus / use the same drinking fountains, etc. Especially when the civil union would give the same legal protections as marriage.

As shown during the last elections, Democrats are very good at social engineering/conditioning. Look at most of the "hot" topics on this site this month and you will see a post like this.

B5 season 5 was bad but not bad enough to retroactively ruin the entire series. In fact, once you get past the telepath stories, it gets pretty good.

Really, the only thing I lost by doing this was seeing the Narn as bad guys bulling the Centari.

When I watched it years later with my late wife, we never did watch season 1. I tried starting her with the important episodes on season 1, but since she wasn't yet invested in the show, it really just bored her. So we skipped to season 2 and she became a huge fan. Babylon 5, Farscape, and Firefly were her favorite TV Scifi shows and became her favorite shows in general.

The safety used to be that the NSA had way too much information and too little manpower to ever make use of it against average citizens. When you read stories about what Facebook and Google can do, you realize the NSA doesn't need the manpower to effectively catalog each of us.
