You may jest, but if I recall, the producers of SGU haven't entirely given up, and are looking for someone other than SyFy to possibly pick up the series. I think they even mentioned "alternative venues" or something like that. Really, even though it's not your fav, the way they've picked up in this last season, SGU may be a great fit for Netflix.
I don't get how people crap on syfy for canceling a series that they funded for 10 years. (I know you didn't actually say anything negative and that I am just rambling.)
Don't they do that for first run shows they show very close to the air date? I thought they started that already (could be wrong).
I watched Legend of the Seeker and the first season of Spartatus on netflix. They would play the Starz logo before starting the episode but that is all I remember as far as commercials. And that is similar to the studio logos you see before a movie starts.
But you obviously wouldn't understand that since you're stupid enough to think that these teabagger idiots are either moderate or sane. They're just Republicans, only even stupider. Now run along and grab your idiot Republican buddies with mod points, I can take it.
I am sorry you are so bitter and filled with such hate. I know life feels easier when you are close minded but it really just keeps you from seeing new things. I hope you feel better and happier one day.
That's my point. We let the media define movements based on the fringe lunatics. And we allow that to happen every time a movement comes up and then bemoan the fact that we cant find any moderate parties.
The problem is that the media are helping keep the status quo. Any potentional 3rd party gets written of as bitter cooks or crazy hippies. Look at the libertarian part and the tea party. The examples constantly thrown in our faces are always the insane/racist people yet the media keep quiet that the exact same people exist with both big parties. They force the 3rd parties to constantly having to defend themselves from actions of their fridge members which keeps them too busy to actually get anything done.
I got the usb one and took the hard drive out. Case was a bitch to open, though.
I put the 1TB drive it replaced into the usb case it came with.
The usb one was cheaper and avaible instead of a pre-order item. I just use the 3TB drive to store my movies on so I was not worried about speed as much as storage space.
It never thought I would ever fill 3 1TB harddrives. Heck, 10 years ago I never dreamed of have TB harddrives. I remember scoffing the filesystems that supported that much hard drive space. I am glad the devs were more forward thinking than I was.
That said, I guess I could actually delete stuff I no longer watch instead of constantly updating my harddrives.
I don't look forward to the SEO & advertising monkeys selling "ad space direct on the user's URL BAR!"
It would be a waste of money for them. Most non-tech people I know do not ever look at the address bar. And most tech people would probably protest the ad out of principle.
Heck, most non-technical people type in complete urls into google and bing without even thinking of using the url bar.
The patent system needs reform but the mayor players are all so indebt to it, that it would take an outsider to break it up. Maybe China can do it. They gain nothing from the patent system
Yes they do. It serves them to have their competitor's hands tied.
Same here. This was one the first computer games I played.
I loved it.
Did anyone else had the cheat book that you needed the red plastic to read? My dad had it but wouldn't let us use it so we would have to sneak into the computer room if we were stuck.
Over 325,000? How much is the average estate worth in the uk? A quick google search shows close to 200,000. So if you own a house, you are more than halfway to that target. I work in a call center in the US (not a high paying job) and in 3 years I have saved close to 30,000 (including company matching) for my 401k. It is not unreasonable for me to assume that someone could save 100,000 over the course of their lifetime. With furniture, cars, etc, I think that 325,000 can be hit by many people.
But more to the point, inheritance tax is a higher tax on money already taxed.

EXACTLY. If the Python devs leave 2.x too long and keep saying 3.x only, they will find someone will just fork 2.x and continue it. In free software you only get to make the rules while the community thinks they are good, or it's "fork you!" and the community goes elsewhere.
This was the arguement against KDE 4. It took some time, but I am glad that the KDE group went in the direction they did.
Also, if python 2.x is their past, I doubt they care if it gets forked. If it breaks compatibly with the version they finished, then it is self defeating. If it doesn't, then it doesn't affect them other than someone else will be responsible for any bug/security fixes

At work, I currently need Jinitiator 1.3.1_02, 1.3.1.28, and 1.3.1.29 in order for all my work related java applications to work properly. I tried just using the new one and most of my apps won't even launch.
I didn't like the shows when it aired but watched the movie at the theaters. I then went back and watched the show (in the correct order) and really loved it.

I have always wondered this too. Same with sports

And people wonder why I vote Socialist
You think socialism will result in less government involvement in our lives?
Nobody has an implicit right for things to stay the same.
Nobody, that is, but Wisconsin school teachers.
Go out and watch the movies....
Yes. That is how you should make informed decisions on everything
Anymore like that? That was cool.

Go ahead Mod me down... I take pride in having a dissenting opinion
So says Anonymous Coward. Hopefully no one wastes a mod point on you.
We could have all distros install a voluntary package to send installation records to distrowatch servers.
Whether or not anyone would actually chose to install that package is anyones guess.
Maybe the linux counter could keep distro usage?
It effects the kernel devs and other distros that may want to incorporate some of Red Hats changes.
It also effects red hat users that want to recompile the kernel with only some of the patches from red hat.

Take a 30% cut of paid downloads.
That would be a better deal than Ubuntu is offering Banshee

Why are you relating them?
Or do you really think one justifies another?
Kind of like how you embraced the other two Stargate shows?
Maybe if PBS and NPR would butt out of politics, then they wouldn't have to worry about their funding.
When they were mainly a science/history/ learning channel, they weren't a target.
