  1. Re:Um. on World's Largest Wind Farm Gets Green Light · · Score: 1

    Exactly

All "renewable" energy has an environmental cost. The only reason they seem more environmentally friendly is because they are used on such a small scale.

Solar panels absorb heat from the sun and on a large enough scale would cause global temperature to drop.
Tidal generators will destroy ecosystems, either in river estuaries or on the ocean floor.
Fission power generates nuclear waste which I think we can all agree is bad.
If we could create Fusion power it would have its own problems, like our hydrogen supply would be used up in quick order.

No matter how we pull energy out of a system, that system will be affected by that loss of energy. We have to look at the side of my bottle of Jack Daniels to learn the real solution to our energy problems. "Enjoy in moderation."

If you will excuse me I have to go run some errands in my Hummer H2 now.

That is an amazing statistic. I would have thought that 10 in 10 people with a complaint actually complain but guess that shows what I know.

If the Access Points have miles of range, does that range extend *up* as well as *out*?

Anntenas do not disburse energy equally in all directions. So the range in the "up" direction is not nearly as far as in the out direction. Wow, guess I actually used that EM class in college.

something i always found peculiar : generally the choice of format depends on language; in dutch you say something like this : 7 juli 2006, so we have DD/MM/YYYY ... english countries generally have MM/DD/YYYY. But this strikes me as odd; why wouldn't it have been based on ascending(smallest unit/day first) or descending(largest unit/year first) order?
Well if you want to remain consistant to most other numbers you would start with the biggest unit first. YYYY/MM/DD would be the same as the number...lets say 109, where the 1 is in the hundreds place and therefore the largest unit.

Of course the Lawyer/Law Firm has little to no concern about serving humanity through lawsuits. They are as concerned about their plaintiffs as most working people are about serving the greater good of whatever company they work for. The truth is they are doing it for the paycheck just like the rest of us, and in order to find a lawyer/law firm good enough to go against these companies and their well paid lawyers you are going to have to dish out some cash. Greed drives everything in a free market. Love and good will is overrated.
