I use Planet CCRMA components with Fedora Core 5 and this seems to bring me very close to rivalling what I could do with a Mac running Pro Tools, etc. Any plans to integrate these ideas into the main Fedora package, such as the ability to choose "music" or "recording" on initial install the same way you can choose "home", "office", etc?
Or, really, any plans for any other speciallising options?
Is it just me or did the article say nothing about any performance bugs (other than a faster installation) being worked out? Everything was just "Well this looks a bit nicer..." and "This bit's easier to use now..."...
This reminds me of the shop that stopped selling the particular backpack used by the 7/7 London bombers. Because it was obviously the backpack design that made them want to kill people...
That would've been great back when I was in halls. Especially due to the fact that the driers never even told you how long they'd take except for a single digit LED display that lit up part way through and started a countdown that didn't relate to any unit of time in the known universe...
Have a look into using Planet CCRMA (http://ccrma.stanford.edu/planetccrma/software/) for Redhat/Fedora. It gives you a special low latency kernel and with the ability to connect various APPs using Jack, it might be able to do the whole integrated thing you want.
I really like it, but then I've never used Logic and my needs are probably different to yours...
Po-tay-toe, Po-taa-toe...
Since when did people have anything other than retarded videos/flash crap on their pages? God forbod you might actually want to know someone's name...
There's times when I'm actually glad that it's too much hassle to get the latest version of flash for my Linux. It means I don't have to look at stupid shit on people's MySpace pages...

Or if it had WGA: "You appear to be using a pirated finger"

Sorry, John Cage already beat you to it.
Why don't Apple just start building cars? They'd be all white and only use special Apple tyres and iGas...

My jaw clicks whenever I move it a fair amount. I doubt anyone I was talking to would like to hear "Hey Bob! *CRACK!* How are *CRACK!* you?"...
