  1. Re:double entendre on Industrial Robot Arm Becomes Giant Catapult · · Score: 1

Our country was founded upon the idea that those with the power to enact change have the responsibility to do so.

That would indicate to me that we should not sit by enjoying our comfortable life styles while people on a continent half way around the world suffer religious persecution.

Should we continue to see our pets in the united states treated more humanely than a person living in another country?

Do you have an interest in the war other than your complaints against it?

I happen to know many soldiers that are committed to what we are doing, because they feel that it is the right thing. One of those soldiers happens to be a member of my family, and in his case getting shot in the leg and the ear didn't change his mind.

Do you believe that your view is of more value than a soldier who nearly lost his life?

I hope not, and I hope that you will respect his opinion.

In spite of the number of negative replys to your question, I think you should know that it does indeed appear to be possible. If cars that ran with these engines were put into mass production I would buy one right away regardless of the cost, because in the long run I would save an untold fortune.

Take a look at this video of a news report to see what I mean: http://www.metacafe.com/watch/128967/water_as_fuel /

  3. Re:Physics Hype on GDC: LucasArts and The Force Unleashed · · Score: 1

The nice thing about using a physics engine like this is that it will work in any number of situations.

Code the physics engine once and use it in a dozen different games with minimal changes.

This is better than changing all your scripts.

thanks for the catch... Preview showed it fine, looks like they need to fix it.

  5. Re:Long Pig on Robot Identifies Human Flesh As Bacon · · Score: 2, Funny

As I once heard... Humans = Eat + Sleep + Play + Work Pigs = Eat + Sleep Substitute and you get: Humans = Pigs + Play + Work Now subtract Play from both sides Humans - Play = Pigs + Work Conclusion: Humans who don't understand how to play are just pigs that know how to work.

  6. What needs to be done... on Classes vs. Skills in MMOGs · · Score: 1

What really needs to be done is drop both systems. The player should not have to worry about specifics. Build a good game engine that modifies stats behind the scenes, where the player never sees. players don't need to know there stats. All that matters is that after swinging a heavy sword for weeks he'll notice that he does a lot more damage, or that when he holds a rifle he has become more steady and accurate. Let the story be immersive with out breaking from its reality by worrying about stats. People will be good at what they do not what they want. It will change the entire gamming experience and I believe improve it.
