    A cluch is unnecessary in most electric vechicles and in most cases it is a waste in that it is extra weight asnd also that it would prevent regenerative breaking. You could put a clutch on an electric vechicle but you get penalised for it.

    You may not realise it but it is actually quite simple to provide protection from direct mains connection to a particular port. It dosen't even cost that much.

    I don't see the current noise level of hard disks excessive.
    The biggest factor in keeping them down to acceptable levels is just mounting them on soft rubber grommits.
    This works well enough to keep the machine under my TV acceptably quiet.

    surely you jest?

    1) There is no difference between userspace and kernal space on windows*
    2) windows already has NTFS in kernel space
    3) see  1 and 2 windows has NTFS in user space
    4) why reinvent the wheel?

    * see gaping security holes and history of including kitchen sink in the kernel.
