  1. Google and Xinhua on Newspapers Reconsidering Google News · · Score: 0, Interesting

I refuse to use Google News ever since I noticed that they use Xinhua(The PRC's state newspaper agency) as a source. Ya, I'm real sure the journalism of a totalitarian state that is responsible for the deaths of 3000+ people(then reporting only a handful were injured) will be real accurate.

  2. What is with this list... on PC World 's Best 100 Products of 2007 · · Score: -1

Windows Media Player 11 made it? That thing hogs memory like there's no tomorrow and really doesn't have that many features over the much more stable 10. And digg? That entire site consists of the same 3 stories submitted again and again: "Do obvious thing that you can do in any other distro with Ubuntu", "piratebay founder is eating breakfast, now he's going to bed, etc." and my personal favorite, "Nintendo Wii is awesum!11111 PS3 lolk"

This is worthless, like all the other slashdot posts. Now someone put their faces on flickr so I can derive sexual pleasure from the contusions of anger.

  6. Wow on Digg.com Attempts To Suppress HD-DVD Revolt · · Score: 0

It really has gone out of control on digg. Dozens of useful stories have just got knocked off the front page to make way for more crap on this key. I'm under the impression that the average digg user is a 12 year old who tries to stick it to "the man" by posting a number under complete anonymity.

Like Ubuntu's any better in not spamming adverts? Take a look at digg.com, if it has the word ubuntu in the title, it makes frontpage.

In other news, we've already colonized several other star systems and have created a human alien hybrid. Am I missing anything else? Oh yeah, Bush Jr. was on the Grassy Knoll and really killed Kennedy.

Anyone else remember the Google complicity in the Great Firewall of China? This is it all over again. Google shouldn't be trusted; shame I store all my email with them.

Maybe they just like the music? I'm a member of the International Baccalaureate program and few of my peers have similar tastes in music. I waste my life listening to video game soundtracks, a few other members like classical, one likes techno. And for every smart kid who listens to heavy metal, there's fifty moronic ones that do the same. Only six percent of intelligent students like it and they act like its a massive majority.

IMO, part of the problem is that the project now has legions of supporters just dumping money and publicity on the project, regardless of quality. Back when this project was just getting started, I bet they put much more effort into their code.

Agreed, just because you think your neighbor might be building a bomb doesn't give you the right to try and blow up his house.
