I've never heard of booting XP of flash ROM before. Where did he buy this monster and
how huge is that ROM anyway?

I like the idea of having the OS on a flash ROM because that might finally make my PC boot faster than my 13 years old flame-bait-machine.

I don't see the difference. The moment you switch from you Linux boot CD to the burned CDR the internal copy protection will check the CD you insert and will refuse to read it if it's not a PS2/PSX/DVD. A bootloader will not help.

The PS2 simply will not play CD-RWs. It's not in the software so a bootloader will not help.

I guess you couldn't care less about
messing up your documents since drinking
methanol makes you go blind. Alcoholic beverages like Bombay Sapphire contains ethanol.

    >In Sweden, large apartment complexes can get 10 or 100Mbit ethernet (if upwards of 80% of the people want it) for $20US per month.
Our own Bell named Telia is the biggest provider and offers ADSL 512/512bps for $33.

I live in Sweden and we had a company called Bredbandsbolaget that promised 10Mbps for $20 to everyone. They didn't succeed. They are in big debt and have fired alot of their staff. Most of us are stucked with ADSL. A company called BoStream (former BoNet) offers 2.5Mbps/768kbps down/up-link for $25 ($180 installation). Noone is offering ADSL on the countryside.

    >Government subventions.

The only subvention I've heard of was tax reduction for new fibre. We have alot of fibre in Sweden but just as a previous speaker said it's the last mile (or km) that is the problem.

I like the drinking-story and etymology isn't an exact science so I guess you can choose.
