  1. Gnome is the way to go on From GNOME to KDE and Back Again · · Score: 1

Gnome has just matured quickly, and is far better than KDE at the moment. Its clutter free, delightful and more importantly doesn't remind me of windows.

  2. Google toolkit it is... on Open Source AJAX toolkits · · Score: 1

after reading the review, google seems to be the best for me, cause i already code in java. Using swing really makes sense, and simplifies the developer's job, instead of having to learn javascript. have to give it a shot sometime... and my friend recently used DOJO and said he found it easier that other toolkits. he is no newbie, so i guess its pretty flexible and detailed enough for serious use. but since i have no experience of using it, i cannot comment. Can some one please enlighten me if its good for beginners?

  3. same old stuff... on Proxy Sites Offer Secret Passage to Myspace · · Score: 1

no matter what people come up with, it can and will be broken. Really tough time to be a network administrator in a school. There are always proxy sites, and sometimes the students are just better. They will find a way no matter what

  4. its belief that keeps it going on 'Life on Mars' Meteorite Rejected After 10 Years · · Score: 0, Troll

so what if some scientists have created the structures inorganically...its belief that keeps us going. Who knows for sure that man landed on the moon? And that the rover actually got back rock from the mars? If some scientists believe there is life on mars, why try hard to disprove them? Is it too hard to believe that we may not be alone? or do you really think this vaste universe holds nothing more than the spec of dust that we are?

  5. search everywhere on Best Web Resource For Linux Help? · · Score: 1

the first thing i obviously do is searching google. the correct keywords will definitely bring up the right search results. If that doesnt help, the next place i go is ubuntuforums (i use ubuntu). and instead of posting right away, i take time off to read up the faq(which is updated quite regularly) and search the forum for the answer just to make sure its not a regular question. It sometime is very annoying if people keep asking the same questions again and again without reading stickies.

  6. use(less)ful?? on Defcon 14 Full of Amazing Hardware Hacks · · Score: 1

well, defcon never ceases to amuse me. weird creations, some just stupid! but thats where the fun is. Defcon isnt about people working on a consumer usable item. Its just pure engineering and out of the world thinking. And thats why its got some of the brightest and weirdest minds in the world. If you expect something run-of-the-mill, defcon isnt for you.... but yeah, the id badge is one cool idea. practical and cheap enought to be implemented!! good going!

  7. invisiblity maybe possible on How to Become Invisible · · Score: 1

to be optimistic, invisibility will be possible, but not anytime soon. current advances in optical technology are not leading us anywhere to that goal. while talking about bending light, its therotically possible. but the practical difficulties would be too many to even describe... which makes me wonder - what is the the big deal in becoming invisible?

  8. no.. on Will Pretty PCs Make Vista More Attractive? · · Score: 1

i dont know about others, but im not going to use vista for sure. NO! and this is not just your regular MS bashing. Ive started using ubuntu regularly, and im confident that when vista is released, i will be very comfortable with linux. and not to forget, XP will live for another 3 years or so, and that is pretty nice... and to the main topic, no pretty pc's will not make vista more lucrative. at least thats what i hope

ive never tried all these, but toothpaste works for sure! ive recovered around 4 cd's that way.
