They will and are already paying.
As they should....
Correction, "they" are not paying. They simply sell gas to us at a higher cost. "we" are paying.
That's not how markets work. Prices are not simply set by the financial needs of the seller, they are set by market forces. In this case, there are other companies from which we can by gas/oil. Sure, prices will go up across the board because of the reduced supply cause by this incident, but they won't go up because BP tries to recoup the cleanup expenditure.

Correct. That will happen later this month.
Actually, I believe collisions won't occur until at least next month.
If you look at metacritic 5 of the top 10 games are third party, as are 13 of the top 20. While Nintendo has the plurality of the top games, they don't have a majority.
Have you smelled an old person? It's not pretty; like a combination of mothballs, fried bacon, a Catholic church, talcum powder, and the dust underneath the couch
I'm no geologist, but as I understand it, a river is traditionally liquid.
Granular materials can behave sort of like liquids under the right conditions, such as when large forces are present or when examined at long time scales.
Not that these conditions are necessarily present in this case.
But, while I'm also not a geologist, I believe sometimes a river can be made out of metaphor.:P
But if we can't encourage animals to have sex with their own offspring, what is the point of writing anything at all?
An animal having sex with a member of its own species isn't bestiality, so this is still fair game for Knol.

Seeing as how we aren't going to waste back-story on Joker... On the plus side, I really liked how Joker kept changing the story on how he got the scars. I just wish they had given him a few more BELIEVABLE stories about it.
You miss the point. The Joker is Chaos Incarnate. If you give him a past, a rationale, then he loses his role.
Since Ledger presumably rendered the Joker unportrayable (literally, I can't imagine anyone being able to even come close)
I was seriously expecting the Joker to cut his cord at the end of the film. I was surprised when he didn't. Some of my friends commented later that there had been a controversial scene that might have been cut after Ledger's death. I hear that the scene may have been the body-bag one, but it wouldn't surprise me if Nolan's sequel-killing extravaganza at the end would have included a clear extinction of the Joker had it been regarded as tasteful.
In any case, I agree that we won't see the Joker again in this incarnation of Batman.
On the contrary, I found this to be a great point to the movie. They played only as much a role as they needed (Scarecrow just had to be shut down so we could forget he got away last time). It was Joker's movie, Two Face was his weapon. It was perfect.
Also, props for a brave ending, not Hollywood pulled punches. It was realistic and anti-cliche. Bravo.
But where's the games! The Wii has so much potential, with its unique controller, and yet, I find so few games interested in playing.
I know this borders on ridiculous, but in a way, this comforts me. I have a Wii, and I don't have a lot of time for games. I can pick up all the quality games (all six of them!), and not have to feel pressured to buy more - because there aren't really any more. Which is good, because I haven't even finished these yet.
Of course, any company that tried this deliberately as their sales strategy would fold fast...
Until we change our voting system to something like Instant Runoff voting, the large parties will never be beaten because voting for a 3rd party really is throwing away your vote.
Another big impediment to changing the voting system is getting people to understand it. They are used to simple voting procedures.
Now, say American Idol switched to Instant Runoff or some other voting system (implemented backwards, I suppose, for choosing losers instead of winners). People would immediately see the benefits and grow to trust it. In time, with much luck, the people will demand a change in voting procedures.
The real debate is over the definition of "planet." Pluto is just the kernel of the debate. Is this a meaningful question? Well, its no worse than many other scientific questions. Science, after all, is historically about dividing and classifying (the root comes from the indo-european root "skei", which means to cut). We have divisions of stars and other heavenly bodies; it'd be nice to settle this in a useful fashion.

It's lies!
Though McCain himself does have the faint aroma of the Neolithic.
Now, do I invite my friends to add an application I know they'll want (as former Scrabulous fans)?
Do the ends justify the means?

Scarecrow and Two Face seemed under used.

These are all results of power laws. The fat (Pareto) tail and the 80/20 (Pareto) law are the same thing.
