Fun fact In oklahoma you are required to do a background check to pick up your own gun from a pawnshop but you are not however required to do a background check if picking up your own gun from a gunsmith that you've had repaired.
Gun altered? no check. Gun not altered? Check! Nice consistent laws we have here.
Although I don't like the idea of a business being responsible for taking guns away from people that already own them.
I have a samsung convoy 3 and an ipad 2. I need my phone to work as a phone more than anything else.
Verizon is planning on retiring their 2g and 3g networks in 2020-2021 yet its 2016 now and afaik they do not have a single dumb cellphone that works on their 4G network.
Within the the next year although it might already be happening as Microsoft security essentials and windows defender already regularly scan all the files on windows computers and its been built in to the os since windows vista.
I'm not sure why but I have a problem with using services from any company that says its going to delete my files if it it thinks they might be dangerous. I think it goes all the way back to the first time a virus scanner deleted buttons.exe for my safety.
Ahh I see now it's a post about a book (Homo Deus: A Brief History of Tomorrow) that's not even out until september 8th. I hate it when people do that. Why not wait until I can actually read it before telling me about it?
I can't leave this discussion without a mention of Manna by Marshal Brain http://marshallbrain.com/manna... It's two extreme scenarios for what might happen if we are able to replace the entire workforce.
I think your right on that. But I still don't like it as it means I can't trust that I will be able to find things in the archive at a later date if the domain changes hands.
And domains that get parked tend to stay that way so access may be lost permanently. So it may be a distinction without a difference.
It's a nice thought but many things do vanish. Servers crash then as it turns out they had archive.org blocked and nobody happened to have any backups.
Especially smaller and niche stuff is vulnerable to this.
Someone out there may have a copy but without any way to contact them it pretty much doesn't exist anymore.
Since we are discussing fast.com does anyone know the story behind slow.com it says Welcome to Comcast! in google search results but it says Welcome to Time Warner Cable! if you visit it.
Did they set that up or was it someone's idea of a joke to redirect that domain?
Have you checked around to see if any other dialup providers service your area? last I checked netzero was still selling service nationwide for $9.95/mo and still allows for 10 hours a month free/w ads.
It activates without question on bios keyed hardware. Although it should still have the key printed on the label.
I still don't like it though looks too much windows 8 and a variety of features I use has been removed and one of the selling points cortana requires login to do anything.

Well that's disappointing.

It leaves a lot out. It actually looks to me that some of it was written but taken out shortly before publishing.
I'd watch it.

IIRC yes it does. Hopefully I'm wrong on that but I don't think I am.

even better park the domain with a robots.txt
User-agent: *
Disallow: /
and archive.org will promptly nuke the site from its archive. :(
ADSL2+ so its actually 12/1 Mbps instead of the 12/1.5 Mbps that is also sold as uverse in most places.
Will have to switch providers sometime soon 1Mbps upload is quite limiting in what you can do.

The att u-verse business line here is $45/mo for 12 Mbps but that's with a discount since we also have phone service it would be $50/mo by itself.
The deal is that the city is offering a 10/10 mbps business fiber line for $55/mo and prices have been adjusted appropriately.
I'll blame this one on netflix being used to handling several million people streaming video at 5 Mbps.
On at&t u-verse ADSL2+ it shows 11 Mbps that's pretty close considering it's on a 12 mbps plan.
I'm sure part of that is trackers adding random ip's to the peer list.
Afaik they aren't verifying data is actually available.

Kindle fire has ads on its lock screen to subsidise the cost of the device so maybe windows 10 will only cost $50? (hahahahaha)

Or we're they just talking about trying to get the DNA to assemble?
Either way are they planning to make use of the new letters?

Here in the US broadcast tv is free as it is ad supported.
Unless you get cable then you get to pay for those broadcast tv stations.
I'm glad to see its finally out of beta.
So is Watson going to turn into a paid search engine then?
This seems to be a start in that direction.
What about the one that invented the pop under?
