He said that you can have them regenerate, so in theory they should last forever. If you can keep making more from the ones you already have. And if that's the case, why does only having what they currently have an issue?
Stephen Hawkings was offered a more normal sounding speech synthesis computer, but he turned it down.

You're a moron. This was totally for Code Red. I used to work for M1, I know people that still work for AT&T. It's temporary, it's not against their AUP, in fact in their cable modem leasing agreement they say it's okay to run a web server. But they won't support it.
Go to slashduh, there's a big story on there about it with details and links to their policies.

HEY! It's not against their AUP to run a web server!

"1. Jurisdiction: He wrote the program in Russia, complying with Russian law. He works for a Russian company. The company sells the product, not him. This product is *legal* under Russian law. It's not just a case of Russian "hackers" getting away with something because of shoddy law-enforcement in their country, it's actually *allowed*. Furthermore, the software which his circumvents is *ILLEGAL* in Russia (because it does not have provision for making a backup copy of the data it uses)."
Yes, but he gave a talk and explained out it works in the US.. that is illegal (currently) in the US. I don't think it's right, but it's the law.. That's like saying that in some other country where it's legal to shoot somebody that they should be exempt when they come here and do the same thing. You follow the laws of the land that you're in, and he broke the law here, while he was here. The law is stupid, yes, but jurisdiction is not an issue in this case.
Well.. when you think about it.. the news anchors are just talking heads.. news readers.. they don't actually do any real reporting. That's done by a huge staff and tons of interns, not the people on TV.
So why not hire somebody that has alot of on-camera experience, all they're doing is reading..
Considering that they're projection, and you could put the projector into something that contained the radiation. I don't think it would be much of a problem.. if at all.
Just look at all the rice boys out there with their hondas adding yellow highlights..
All you need is a racing stripe and a spoiler (always seems to work on hondas.. Nothing like downforce on the backwheels of a front wheel drive car) and you'll get even more performance!
While the Linux part may be free, and you might be able to get the code for it from them (well, not might, you should). The stuff they wrote to get it on the Palm, plus anything they wrote that's not part of the actual kernel (i.e. not touching GPL code) doesn't have to be released to you for free.
Ask for federal funding, you get political situations.. that's the way it goes.
The decision will in no way impact private research.
Or was that false?

But there is more to Adobe's encryption then ROT13. It also uses ROT13, but that's not all it uses.

If you get scars from building it, I don't wanna build one!
You wouldn't happen to have the names of these tools, and perhaps some links to them would you? I would love to do the same.
