    Non-portable software is bad software. Developers who are burdened by writing portable software are bad developers.

  3. You didn't mention Windows XP.

    A reason why so many computers are still running Windows XP is that they can't be upgraded. Microsoft added the requirement that the CPU must support NX which many of the old CPUs running Windows XP do not support.

    The light outside might LOOK ten times brighter than the lighting inside Walmart, but it's actually 10,000 times brighter. Your eyes are very good at seeing in a wide range of light - from candlelight to full sun, a million times brighter.

    I don't understand why companies like Walmart are putting solar panels on their roofs when they could likely save more money by putting in skylights instead.

    Airports were designed a long time ago. The equivalent of turnstiles are currently being installed. But, this is irrelevant. The "security" procedures were never intended to find or stop any terrorists.

    As a result of the CRTC, we have Canadian artists and Canadian companies making content that is indistinguishable from American content so that the Canadians can sell their content in the American market. The CRTC rules do not result in more "Canadian content". The CRTC is a protective mechanism for Canadians to have more jobs.

    But this all raises a much larger issue and that is we almost need a yelp to rate the rating services. Especially as time goes by these crowd sourced rating services will either begin to alter their ratings for pay or they will be largely gamed by various unethical players who usually have financial motives to game the system.

    For the cost of Telsa's batteries to drop, Tesla's battery factory needs to run at full capacity. Tesla's factory will have the capacity to produce more batteries than required by the entire world's projected number of electric vehicles in 2020.
