What if the defendant was a journalist accused of some sort of snooping/hacking offence. The police have evidence suggesting that proof of guilt may reside on the laptop, but the journalist refuses to unlock it because it contains other secrets that may or may not be even related to this case: - Their list of sources, for example, or evidence to do with other stories that have yet to be published.
When you remove the child porn aspect, it seems pretty unreasonable to force the defendant to unlock the data.
I still use a Nokia 6310 most of the time. Sure, it doesn't have any internet connectivity, but it's a better phone than anything being sold today, the battery lasts for a week, I can drop it without it breaking, and no one's going to steal it.
There's certainly no shame involved. Quite the opposite in fact. When people are boasting about their new phones and I pull my old Nokia out the reaction is: "Wow! I used to have one of those. Now that was a good phone!"
One thing a lot of people fail to consider is temperature. If you spend all your time indoors, or you live in a hot area, then you're not going to burn calories keeping yourself warm. The typically quoted figures are only averages, so you may need to adjust them to take into account the current temperature.
If you live in a cold or temperate area, turn the heating down or off in the winter. That'll help you lose weight without requiring any exercise.
Surely of all the vegetables, lettuce is one we could do without?

In cases like these, what's to stop the defendant from saying they don't know the password, or can't remember?

Has anyone managed to get Red Alert multiplayer working under emulation?
It needs Win95/98 with IPX networking.
Surely this article should have started with Freescape. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freescape/
"Emergency. Emergency. There's an emergency going on." Holly, from Red Dwarf.

BeOS doesn't change the BIOS though, so you're still going to have to sit through the BIOS screen no matter what OS you use.
My my old Amiga is about 15 secs to boot from a CF card. No BIOS screens to worry about there though.
I've tried Photoshop and the GIMP and neither impressed me.
