You are correct, it is not a hate crime.

5th amendment protects one against oral testimony against oneself, not self-incrimination or being forced to provide evidence.

The 5th amendment doesn't specify "oral testimony against oneself"
    It says:

No person shall be ...compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself.

That is fairly broadly worded such that giving a passphrase can certainly be witnessing against oneself as it means providing information (witnessing) against yourself. Not to mention that the passphrase is in your head, so it isn't a physical thing to hand over either.

Which brings us to the 4th amendent which is supposed to keep the government out of our personal effects.

People seem to forget that the amendments to the Constitution do not give us any rights, but rather they limitthe government and how far they" can infringe on our "natural rights."

So, does this account for why some people say digital looks different than film? Can it corrected? Do people care? I worked in compression not color but I guess I should have learned this. :(

I don't think so. I think some people say it looks different when they are talking about low budget, quick turn around digital like like soap operas and low budget independent shot on consumer grade equipment.
When the digital pipeline is professional grade, shot, comped, edited and finished at 4k, then I think most people won't spot the difference (that is, if the director is going for a "film" look, which many do)
As for color, some pro digital cameras sport up to 18 stops of dynamic range, which is greater than film.

Take a look at this list of movies shot with the Red camera and have someone honestly say if they could tell it was shot digital.

I think most would be surprised.

They really should be focusing on protesting Congress and the White House. The people on Wall Street are there to make as much money as they can. They don't mince words about it. If congress gives them a break that is not fair to the 99%, you really can't expect them to not accept it.
Our Country's leaders are the ones who need to be protested on this issue for directly allowing the top 1% to have additional tax breaks, bail-outs, 0% interest loans on federal monies that they turn around and charge 28% on, etc., etc., etc.

For example: by setting up shop (even on paper) in Ireland, the Bahamas or where ever else, US companies can get out of paying federal tax. Legally.
Not so with an individual. As an American citizen, if I go live and work in Ireland, or anywhere else, without ANY ties to the US at all, I still am required to pay US Federal income tax on the money I earn(in addition to that countries taxes.)
