If the DVD says "Widescreen anamorphic," it is referring to the widescreen encoding on the DVD to squeeze the wider aspect ratio to fit a television, however they were not filmed 35mm anamorphic.

Considering that this will retro fit to any of their bodies made since 1957 you can keep this device working and up to date for quite a long time to come.
Not to mention, $14k worth of film doesn't take into consideration the costs involved in processing all that film. As film becomes a lost art, there are going to be fewer and fewer places that you can get film processed and the costs will likely keep going up.
In fact, after clicking through related videos, I can't find any that have the "this video is no longer available" (or whatever the wording is) on any Downfall parody.
I went to this (as its the only one I'm familiar with) and not on is that up and working, but every Hitler Downfall parody linked to on the right was up and working.
