okay, okay, another little correction. Never tried a Beta of it on my comp at all cuz...well why would I ever do that to myself on purpose? But yeah, I'm sure it would run Vista but then I'd run into the XP problem from years past. You know...
"Yes, this computer is fast enough to run Vista...oh, you want to run other programs at the same time? No, you can't do that, it would freeze up."
Like I really want Vista taking up all the resources in the background just to look pretty and do more stuff without asking and useless AI and/or system maintenance tasks.
erm, it was an AMD 64 3200+ with a BFG 6600GT, Mr I Don't Fix Quotes...but anyway, "slower than most by a factor or 10?!?!" I'd estimate that overall, about 5% of computer owners in the US have something faster so you're saying nobody can boot XP. Okay so that's almost true but still, you're exaggerating. But I can't pull a faster graphics card out of my ass so right after a money tree springs up in my front yard, I'll get a better one. Btw it's still really hard to get it to drop below 30 fps (I have low standards) with any settings in an average directx 9 game at 1024x768. And I don't want a crap dual core like a 3800+ so I'm waiting until I can afford a faster dual core (I need dual core for video encoding while doing other stuff)
But if you have just a few guys writing Vista, then they don't have to wait around background checking thousands of people or training them or even just hiring them:-) That would cut off so much time!
The mystery is solved! She escaped while he was distracted by waiting for the thing to process something:-P Bet it still boots faster than the modern PC though.
lol, I think you're right. When it finally comes it, we're all going to rush out and not buy it anyway. My computer can't even run Vista comfortably in my opinion and it's got an Athlon 63 3200+, 1GB of memory, and a GFB 660GT:-P
I don't know if NASA could ever put that together. Half the land could be underwater with the other half either frozen or 150 degrees and they'd never get a budget approval for a Mars evacuation because maaaaaaaaybe global warming isn't to blame...better run some more tests
I hope they learned that all this would have been avoided if they would have thought up and designed each feature one at a time in order of importance instead of all at once then hoping the whole mess works together and is secure. It sounds slower in theory but in practice, they've spent probably like 10x longer fixing all the new features and making them work together than it took them to write them in the first place.
In case you haven't met any, people that aren't bigots treat people accordingly when they meet them in real life. If muslims here help turn in terrorists then the regular, everyday person would have a good image of those specific people. Keep in mind it's racist to say all arabic muslims are terrorists and equally as racist to say that none are. Racist = saying all people in a group are one way.
As I said in my other post, Islamic Extremists (note the name) do what they do purely for religious reasons. There are (fabricated) islamic teachings that say go blow yourself up to kill some israelis and you'll go to heaven. No other major religion has anything like that as far as I know so if someone of another religion commited a terrorist act then no, it wouldn't have ANYTHING to do with their religion you bigot.
You've got to be kidding...you need to watch more CNN. Islamic extremists (note the name) believe what they are doing will get them into heaven. Blowing themselves up to detroy enemies is a purely religious act to them. In South America what they're doing has nothing to do with their religion, which btw I seriously doubt terrorists there associate with.
Wouldn't certain hacker-written firmware replacements make it act like something else? I know of a linksys one that lets you boost the signal 4x the normal max with the old firmware so how hard could it possibly be to get it to do other things that would mask it? Even if the way the antennas were built caused an unmistakable fingerprint, if you got the device's hardware to change its power levels on certain parts or tweak the frequency outside the 12 channel range for example, that would make it look like something else, right?
everyone I talked to in my IT classes at my college said something to the effect "it's okay" or "it's not that great of a game." I think the only reason it's popular is because it combines Warcraft fans that will play anything Warcraft with MMORPG gamers. That's a lot of people but it doesn't make it a great game. I don't think it has anything to do with the price because Silkroad Online is pretty similar in many ways but completely free and there's only like 10,000 or so people playing that.
lmao, no at my my college, we already know how to speak english well or we don't get in. They have a test that screens people and only makes them take an extra english class if they score poorly otherwise no admission for them. I got a perfect score in every area by the way. With that awesome system in place, we can stop wasting time reviewing that stupid high school stuff and learn what we need to know for our job.
well well, someone's from one of the coasts. Hmm, if they can somehow ace all the tests and final without showing up a day why force them to occupy seats?...It's called cheating and I want people who want to be at a college and want to be working in their field to get a degree, not just someone who says oh _____'s make a lot of money, I'll be one of those. Those people memorize, cheat, and show up just enough to pass then fake their way into a job. I bet you're used to 4 year colleges where they make you take all those stupid general eds and only teach theory with little hands on work. Get with it! 4 year programs are useless (especially in IT) because all jobs want these days are prior work experience. I already got hired without looking as a web designer and I'm not even done with my degree yet, they just heard I'm good at it and I've done it before. I may not be able to feng shui the thing, but I can get results because my teacher is a web designer and I've done it before. Screw theory! P.S. I'm in a very good 2 year college for a PC programming/Web Development degree with a web design certificate.
My VB teacher posts his ASAP, usually withing 24 hours. The school-wide rule is if you miss two weeks of class in a row or like 25% or something like that overall, you're booted from the class. That filters out all the lazy slackers that don't deserve degrees or jobs because they can't even take the effort to show up. Also, use a lot of hand gestures and non-verbals so people will get the just of the lecture for review purposes but would still do poorly if they missed the original lecture.
when the hell has yahoo ever helped anyone with anything?...anyway, the whois info on the site I used to have was faked, lol. It was all ****'s and ----'s and like 99999 for the zip and stuff. Because of the nature of the site, I couldn't have people just looking up the whois info and doing who the hell knows what just cuz they're pissed. I encourage everyone to fake their whois info because it's just one giant security hole. Why hack someone's site if you disagree with it if you can just call them up and say you're going to kill them or ship them a bomb or something. I think the FBI knows this so they never penalize anyone for it. Plus, what are they gonna do if they can't find me and I never reveal enough info to narrow down my personal info on the site:)
Timothy McVey isn't a terrorist any more than those two bank robbers that shot like 70 people while wearing body armor or the columbine shooters. Stop watching the news and start using your brain; a terrorist isn't someone who commits a large scale crime, it's a person or group that try to achieve some sort of goal using fear. As for the rest of your BS, I won't even bother because you're too closed minded and illogical.
no, it's people like YOU that prove that. The we can't stop them everywhere so just leave everything as it is and give up and hope they don't nuke us mentallity is ridiculous. In general islamic arabs are the most likely by far to be terrorists and there's no two ways about it.
hehehe that reminds me of my arab teacher in 9th grade that yelled at the class for being so white and racist for no reason and told the class that the CIA was spying on her every day. She got fired:-)
Okay first of all, it was registered almost a full year ago and second, even now I could probably drive to his house/office (assuming that info is accurate) and arrest him myself faster than the FBI could. Why does everyone always sit around and do nothing when stuff like this happens? Someone should at least give him a call:-) It's not even nigeria this time, how expensive could it be?
I don't remember who said this but some guy on the news said "If a one armed man robbed a bank, I don't think many police would be stopping to question guys with two arms." Being random and relying on luck to catch terrorists is just plain stupid. If there is a logical way to narrow it down in any way, they should do it.
Hmm let's see, there are hundreds of thousands of arabic muslims that hate us and have joined terrorists organizations and ummmm...well 1 white guy from the US that was just on that tape, plus Timothy McVey if you really consider that terrorism. So with a white, american businessman and an arabic, non-US citizen standing next to each other, it's a more fair, safe, and effective to just flip a coin and let that decide which one gets searched. If that's racism then I'm Bill Gates...and I'm not.
As for innocent Arabs that constantly get stopped at our airports I say, **** happens and they should just live with it.
If a guy matching my description robbed a store and ran towards an airport that I was in, I'd be disappointed if the police DIDN'T stop me and question me and I wouldn't start whine about them being racist against blond haired, 5'11" people or whatever. If a computer programmer in my town was suspected of stealing a computer, I wouldn't have a problem with them coming to question or search me just because I'm one too. If someone in any group that you belong to does something bad that makes people suspect you of something then it's not racism, it's life, deal with it.
I don't think they should be allowed to call it finished. They'll probably rewrite most of it in patches over the next few years like IE6. At least it has better CSS support. And now it works better with adware applications and maybe they finally added support for the "fixed" div style so we can all get attacked by screen covering super ads that can't be removed.
historically, people tend to get really mad and do something when their own work computer breaks or gets hacked so I second that idea. Remember what happened when advertisers got infected with adware displaying their own ads a couple years ago and it kept crashing their computers and they couldn't remove it? Well it's sort of like that I suppose. They know they're doing something they shouldn't (or not doing something they should) but they need a little personal nudge to actually take action.
"...he is not seeking justice, revenge, or even his mobile phone. He would quite like his life back"
Oh yes, a stolen phone ruined his whole life. Now he has to go live in a box in an alley wishing he could have his life back. Is it just me or does everyone think it's odd that he should have logically not told anyone about what was going on until the thief took a picture that would give enough evidence to get himself captured? If my phone got stolen (well okay, I don't own one and never have) I'd be kinda pissed and want revenge, especially if it was likely it would be handed to me as easily as having the offender take a picture of his car or house or something.
