Daniel_Staal is correct. Get out now before you are trapped. Idiot users who call you now are a pain to deal with. Wait until you are dealing directly with their bosses. I've worked in nearly every role since college from help desk, to developer, to database administration and finally to management several years ago. My experience has been that things only get worse. Get out now! At least get away from the law firm environment. Attorneys will never view you as more than a pool boy or gardener, and they are physically incapable of acknowledging that someone without a juris doctorate could be intelligent.

The players and owners had a contract. The individual owners chose to overpay the players, and then, due to ignorant, talentless leadership by Gary Bettman, they lost their asses.

Absolutely not true. That is not the primary difference between a lockout and a strike, especially in the context that the parent poster used to denounce unions.

The NHL lost an entire season due to a LOCKOUT. Most of the owners (presumably) are millionaires. And you are right, the players were pushed into it - by the owners who locked them out.

I am an American, church-going, caucasian, midwest-living Christian. I believe placing these stickers on a science book is a mistake. I believe the theory of evolution is the closest explanation we have. I do not believe earth was created 6,000 years ago. Please don't generalize in a hateful way. for me. I hope they work this out...I want to switch from cable, but not at the expense of CBS and Viacom. I'd rather give all my money to the cable company than give a cent of it to Rupert Murdoch. When is DirecTV going to debut the Bill O'Reilly channel?

I can't believe I just said that. This must be proof positive that all politics are local. I will continue to believe that the RIAA/MPAA/TCPA scheme will fail until Jack Valenti personally shows up to collect my bootleg VHS copies of "Hello Larry".

I don't understand why the vast majority of geeks seem to want to downplay Lindows, or just outright trash it. It looks to me like the community should be happy with anything that contributes to the cause, which I had always assumed was presenting a viable alternative to M$. It's almost like someone who resents their favorite obscure band after they become commercially successful. "I was into Linux before Lindows!"
