Since I read this horror story about how a nice guy got Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, I stopped doing all-night coding sessions.

notes from wrist injuries
Perhaps we could take a page from the methods people use when they can't type because of wrist injuries. Check here for one man's experiences. Interesting to note that in the end, the author had to move to Windows for the accessibility options...

Re:You Might Try
I own a Datahand myself, and I am very pleased with it. I am also a frequent browser of www.datahand.com, but have never come across a one-handed version of the Datahand. Are you sure there is one?
In relation to the link you provided to the typing injury FAQ: If anyone needs motivation to care for your wrists, have a look at this poor fellows story about how he got Carpal Tunnel to the 10th degree and what he does about it.
Final note: I am about to modify my Datahand - disassemble it completely so it will be like two fat joysticks with keys on them - if you have a Datahand and wanna take part, contact me at webmaster @ cheathouse.com.

Re:Exactly... who is this stuff for?!
Read about the pain Ben Wing, the architect of XEmacs, goes through, and you might change your mind. If it only helps one person, it's worth the effort.

Re:xemacs protectionI'd think the their concern is more about having to rip out and reimplement chunks of an existing work. (Like they had to do to the Gossling emacs stuff from emacs 15)
I thought there was also some sort of problem with the original redisplay code, but I can't find a reference to that.
