Re:SCI
Oh I have played some of the AGS made games as well as others. Some AGS games that I liked in particular were the Trilby games (ie. 5 Days A Stranger, 7 Days a Skeptic, 6 Days A Sacrifice), Emily Enough, King's Quest Remake, King's Quest III Remake and Quest for Glory II Remake. One of my favourite free, non-AGS adventures games is Out of Order.
When it comes to adventure games, there probably aren't many that I wouldn't enjoy. Space Quest games, Leisure Suit Larry games, King's Quest games, Laura Bow games, Kyrandia games, Broken Sword games, Monkey Island games, Maniac Mansion games, TLJ games, Syberia games...you name it and I have probably completed it. Any new (to me) adventure is welcome whether it's commercial, free, professional or amateur.

And, for the more graphically inclined, check out these: -
Re:Wow.
Well, while I agree some rating option would be nice, calling the games "trash" would be indeed a bit too much. The adventure games (and gamers) were always preffering the story above graphics and naturally the independent developers usually cannot afford to produce commercial quality art/animations.
Anyway, I'm sure there are many gems that might satisfy even the hard-to-please (ahem) audience. Feel free to add games you consider worth playing, these are games I enjoyed: Apprentice 2, Dead City, Case of the Crabs ...

Wow.
Digging through the games listed on the site, I'm reminded of digging through the tras^H^H^H^H bargain/clearance been of CompUSA, of all the old games too old or too crappy to put on the shelves.
Now now, don't get me wrong here. I'm not tryin' to smear these guys - there's sometimes some good stuff in those bins. Some of these games look fairly decent, like the KQ2 remake. But sadly, others just look like the video game form of fan-fiction. Where's the 'sort by highest rating' option on this site, eh? -
The Adventure is Dead, Long Live The Adventure!
The graphical adventure on the PC isn't quite dead... not yet.
Perhaps commercially it is - but look how long the text adventure has been dead, and that's got a thriving fan/development community producing some outstanding stuff.. (To learn more about that google around for "Interactive Fiction", "Inform" or "TADS")
And as for graphical adventures - there's some really neat free graphical adventure development systems (SLUDGE Adventure Game Studio) - and of course, if you just want to play the games, there's plenty of those two, including some very polished efforts, such as Out of Order
In short, don't wait for Lucasarts to make the next great adventure - get stuck in and do it yourself! :)
