Re:This Just In
As for Palin lying... even if she did lie, I don't care.
I guess that says a lot about your character.
When she does something that is worse than hanging out with a known and unashamed terrorist, let me know.
I don't know, how about marrying a secessionist?
And don't pretend that you wouldn't be using that to skewer Obama if the shoe was on the other foot.
Let's see. Let's put shoes on both feet. Secessionist or terrorist. I think I'll vote for the secessionist. Which would YOU prefer? Remember, your answer will say a lot about your character.

Re:Don't push it AlaskaThere's probably a larger independence party here in Alaska than in Puerto Rico. The Alaskan Independence party even elected a governor one year (1990).
Ted and Lisa and Don are part of our fiendish plot to get the U.S. so sick of us that they kick us out, so that we don't have to go to the bother of a revolution. Sort of a ``be revolting so we don't have to revolt'' strategy.

Re:Yes, it's legal
If the mid west or Alaska felt like the government just didn't represent their needs why wouldn't they try to leave the union and form a government that better met their needs.
What makes you think Alaska isn't trying? -
Alaska is Calling!
They already have an independence movement: the Alaska Independence Party. Here.

Where Do You Get Your Data?
43% of Canadians support Québec separating? It'll be a cold day in hell before support reaches that level. And within Québec, it's LESS THAN HALF, otherwise they would have separated by now, since it's still a democratic country. Sure, it was a small margin last referendum, but still a greater margin than some people take to win. Interestingly, in the same way that Al Gore lost the US presidency, the current Québec provincial government won the last election due to the electoral system, even though they did not receive the most votes.
I imagine if you're all for Québec's right to self-determination, you're also supportive of the separation of the Second Republic of Texas, of Alaskan Nationhood, the restoration of the Sovereign Kingdom of Hawaii, the California Republic, Puerto Rican independence, and the formation of Cascadia from what's left of the United States of America.
