Games!
You could set one up for the purpose of having a game of Lexicon! A good example is The Toothpaste Disaster, set in the 'Paranoia' RPG.
Similarly, some friends and I used a wiki as an adjunct to a far-future MUCK: character bios and area reference got dumped into the wiki, to help us remember what the hell was going on in our real-time text roleplay as things got more and more complex.
I think I've also seen people using wikis as multi-author choose-your-own-adventure platforms; pretty easy to make that work.
My room-mates and I experimented with a wiki for our house, but that didn't go anywhere.
I've heard of some people using a wiki running on their own machine as a sort of free-form personal information manager. A little bit more complex than the 'live in one giant text file' ethic some practice, but almost as portable and future-proof. -
Re:George Lucas
or how about silent running (which has douglas trumbull as director among a few other notable names like john dykstra. if you are at all familiar with ilm you will know those names.)? also, john carpenter's college movie, ala thx-1138, dark star (which gave birth to dan o'bannon's alien's saga).
there are a zillion other example's out there. here's another link you might like. -
He's probably not working on Junction Point per se
It startled me to see a Gamespot story linking to my own bibliography. This was part of the reporter's detective work in trying to deduce the nature of Warren's current project. I worked for Warren at the Austin, TX office of Looking Glass Studios (then Looking Glass Technologies) in the mid-'90s on a game with the working title "Junction Point." I don't know what Warren's current plans are, but I'm willing to bet he isn't trying to resurrect that game. I expect he chose the name purely for sentimental reasons.
By the way, in case anyone cares, the Gamespot story gets one detail wrong: I didn't work with Warren at TSR. Rather, we worked together at Steve Jackson Games in the mid-'80s, where he was Editor-in-Chief and I was the lowly assistant editor. Warren worked for TSR after leaving SJG, and was involved in AD&D 2nd edition there. I never worked at TSR myself, though I did a lot of freelance work for them.

Wikis for online games
If you like online roleplaying games, check out the rules for a Wiki-based game called Lexicon, designed by Neel Krishnaswami. Earlier this year I ran The Toothpaste Disaster, a Lexicon game using the background for the PARANOIA tabletop roleplaying game. It was great fun, and there are many other Lexicon games around the Web now.

Background article on the original King Kong
I wrote a short article for the January 1997 issue of Collect! magazine that recounted some of the interesting history of the original King Kong filmmakers, Merian Cooper and Ernest Schoedsack. Collect! (now defunct) covered non-sports trading cards, so don't be puzzled that there's a paragraph of commentary near the end about several Kong-related card sets.

A little late!
I pointed out these similarities in an article for Amazing Stories back in 1998, and I was nowhere near the first to make the observation.

Re:Garriott's Halloween House 1988 -- I helped!
I played a small part in Richard Garriott's first Halloween spook house at his newly opened Britannia Manor mansion, back in 1988. I wrote a long letter to friends about that amazing experience.
