Re:Insuring civil liberties
I better go get a quote at GEICO [http://anrdoezrs.net/].
Nice link spamming scheme there... -
Insuring civil liberties
The most important goal in any modern country should be to insure civil liberties.
Oh crap! I forgot to insure my civil liberties. I better go get a quote at GEICO.
I just saved a ton of money on my Civil Liberty Insurance! That should ensure that I'll always have them. -
Already using a variant of this
It was obvious that this was coming, as there are already plenty of cordless phones like the Linksys Cordless Internet Telephony Kit for Skype. Just get skype-in and skype-out service and you're good to go. Extending this idea to cell-phones was a matter of time.

Re:Not to rip on you guys butYes, the human body is quite adept at knowing the time pretty well. But sometimes five minutes matters. Or two, or three.
Sometimes, not only do I not want to be late, I also don't want to be early: I want to be right on time. Yes, I carry a Blackberry that will tell me pretty exactly what time it is. But sometimes it's far from opportune to pull it out and take a look (I'm on the subway, I'm in a lobby waiting for someone and don't want to appear nervous or neurotic, I'm out of batteries on my Blackberry (oh no...). And sometimes... I want a lady to notice me, and a nice piece of man-jewelery helps a bit.
Anyway, it's funny that this story should pop up now. I just got a nice deal on a watch from eWatches.com. They do free shipping, free sizing, and have a low price guarantee.

Heck, you can record all the streams you want with Replay-Radio. It was good enough that I bought it. Then I was finally convinced to shell out $10/month for a subscription to Rhapsody. Now I can record everything I want from Rhapsody. And I was a HARD CORE file sharer before. So there is indeed a price-point at which I'm willing to pay for music.

Re:don't have TiVo... Yet
Why pay any fee at all? I grabbed one of the Toshiba Tivo/DVD Series2 units from EBay for about $120, which includes TiVo service, albeit "Basic" service. (Basic service doesn't allow Season Pass subscriptions but you can still record shows as normal, use the guide, pause live shows, etc.)
