Re:New times, same old church
// This just goes to show that if churchs want to keep people envolved they need to change to meet
// what people want / can tolerate. The tax thing is just silly, it is like a resturant adding tip // to your bill for you. Once churches relize that they are a service then they will start to change // for the better.
Yep. That's just survival of the fittest at work.

Re:Flame
Now hear the spoiled-child rhetoric! Perhaps it is the yankees who are overrated? Perhaps it is the yankees' lifestyle that's over-inflated? Why do the jobs go out of the US with a great sucking sound??? In the turd-world (so said because life there is nothing but shit, thanks to the yankees sucking-out all the wealth of the world), workers do not have four cars in the driveway and a swimming pool in their backyards. While India's satellite launches and outsourcing news are already covered in slashdot umpteen times, sometimes her sensible achievements should be covered too."
Her sensible acheivements should be covered too? Can we mark the article blurb as flamebait? Lets keep the bias out of the story. Please. In most of the civilized world (this is spelled E.U.R.O.P.E.), there is public transit to take the people to their jobs without FORCING them to use an expensive, gas-guzzling heap of junk on wheels which is, thanks to the inherent paranoïa that is so typical of the shitheap-puritan yankee mindset, has to be inflated beyond any semblance of reasonableness for it's owner to retain some kind of status amongst it's hare-brained sheepish co-herders.
After a while of destroying the countryside with strip-malls, the business owners are getting tired of subsidizing the heavy car usage that is so typical of the earth-trashing yankees' lifestyle and are starting to rebel. By moving the work where the workforce do not need to have a subsidized conveyance.
The great sucking sound is nothing but the sound itself of the yankees' suckitude, it's stupid dependence on foreign oil that has done so much in the last few years to alienate most of the earth's population, all thanks to the most miserable failure of all time in yankee politics.
So, mister Anonymous Coward, your sheepish flame, shot from behind your huge cowardice (see how I am NOT afraid of you unwashed barbarians by signing my name), you can roll it, and shove it up your anus so it can give you your long-overdue orgasm thar your sheepish moronic puritanism has prevented you from enjoying all that time.
Morons. (Anybody who moderates this negatively is nothing but one of those stupid spoiled Bush-voting yankees). -
Re:Uhhh
The Dalai Lama's stated many times that if there's anything in Buddhist beliefs that's disproved by science, then the belief's wrong and should be thrown out, no questions asked.
Buddhism has no problems with evolution whatsoever (and has no 'creation myth' per se), and has even clearly discussed elements of QM with regards to metaphysics and the mind. See here for some good discussions on the matter. -
Re:Good to be kept honest, anyway. At least SCO is not 100% dishonest.
Take their employment section as an example

Re:My thoughts on the matter.now I am getting into Zen philosophy so I will jsut shut up becasue I don't know where this is leading towards
For those of you who don't afraid of where this is leading towards, here are some interesting links between buddhism and fundamental phisics.
Quantum sunyata: Basically, what quantum theory says is that fundamental particles are empty of inherent existence and exist in an undefined state of potentialities. They have no inherent existence from their own side and do not become 'real' until a mind interacts with them and gives them meaning. Whenever and wherever there is no mind there is no meaning and no reality. This is a similar conclusion to the Mahayana Buddhist teachings on sunyata.
Sunyata - the emptiness of all things: It is important to emphasise that the mathematical equations of quantum physics do not describe actual existence - they describe potential for existence. Working out the equations of quantum mechanics for a system composed of fundamental particles produces a range of potential locations, values and attributes of the particles which evolve and change with time. But for any system only one of these potential states can become real, and - this is the revolutionary finding of quantum physics - what forces the range of the potentials to assume one value is the act of observation. Matter and energy are not in themselves phenomena, and do not become phenomena until they interact with the mind.
Buddhism copes with Science: "If there is any religion that would cope with modern scientific needs it would be Buddhism." -- Albert Einstein
A cosmic religion: "The religion of the future will be a cosmic religion. It should transcend a personal God and avoid dogmas and theology. Covering both the natural and the spiritual, it should be based on a religious sense arising from the experience of all things, natural and spiritual, as a meaningful unity. Buddhism answers this description." --- Albert Einstein
About buddhism: "Buddhism has the characteristics of what would be expected in the cosmic religion for the future: It trancends a personal God, avoids dogma and theology; it covers both the natural and the spiritual, and it is based on a religious sense aspiring from the experience of all things, natural and spiritual, as a meaningful unity." --- Albert Einstein.
My favorite quote of Albert Einstein: "Imagination is more important than knowledge".

December 1932
That's when Polish cryptographers working in Psary near Warsaw broke the Enigma code. They later delivered Enigma to the Brits, so they could then continue work and decipher Nazi transmisions and thus win the WWII. Without the work one by Poles, there would be many more casualties and the Royal Navy would have lots much more ships.
Read the letters of the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland here and here.
There are many other things that Brits like to keep secret, like the destruction of the Armia Krajowa (Polish Home Army, the largest organized undercover military structure that operated in Europe during the WWII) Archives of Espionage Reports sent to the Brits over the course of WWII.
This film is remotely close to the historic truth. -
