Re:TheoTheo is a poor lost soul. I don't know what dark troubles stain and embitter his heart. Maybe it was his family's involvement in the apartheid regime in South Africa. Or it could stem from feelings of inferiority, or even be a remnant of childhood sexual abuse. Whatever the cause for Theo's problems, there is a solution.
Theo is the type of person for whom the Gospel message should be directed. If Theo were saved, if he were washed in the blood of the Lamb, if he gave his heart over to Jesus Christ, Theo would be born again. We would see a new Theo, a kinder and more tolerant Theo. Our Lord was nailed to a cross so that we all might have new life in Him.
But the Gospel message is not only for Theo. It has the power to transform all our lives. Even if you aren't sure about making a decision to follow the Lord, take the time to call the counselors at CBN. Maybe you are a drug addict, or a homosexual, or a Muslim. No matter. Whatever your sin, Jesus came to save the sinner. There is much joy in heaven for each sinner who accepts the free gift of eternal life. Why not give CBN a call? Do it now - 800-759-0700.

God Needs the Money
We need that money NASA is wasting on "science", to hand out to the "faith-based" organizations. It's hard to scrape $2B together for god - it means chopping two-thousand-millions off these bureaucracies which will never get us to heaven. And we'll have to dig even deeper next year, 'cuz god's got a money habit like nobody's business.

Re:Not a great idea.Do you think you are "cool" for your political protests? Do you have _any_ clue what went on in Iraq? As a former US Marine, I do.
Iraqi TV aired _nightly_ "music" videos praising Saddam like this one. The music sounds kind-of cool until you read the translation:
Our father, indeed, Saddam, is our father
Imagine hearing a song like this about Bush or Blair, every night. You might think there was "no threat" to the USA and you may be correct. However, why should the world sit back while some of the most horrific atrocities are being committed against humans by Saddam and his regime? Here are some good quotes for you:
With him at home there is no fear
Our father, the kind Saddam, is our father
With him at home there is no fear
He spread his love equally among all of us
Oudai, Qusai, are his soul, we are his heart
He spread his love equally among all of us
Oudai, Qusai, and there is a lot more room in his heart for all
Has the world ever seen anyone like our father?
Has the world ever seen anyone like our father?
When he sits with us he fills the home with light
Looking at all of us old and young
When he sits with us he fills the home with light-
Looking at all of us old and young
There words of love and poems become sweeter
(repeat)
Has the world ever seen anyone like our father?
(repeat)
Our father and we are proud to carry his name
He always fulfills his words to any of us# Actual live castrations of Kurds.
So exactly _who_ should help the poor people of Iraq against these acts? Should we just sit back and say, "Bush just wants oil"? Or should we get off our asses and try to help the world?
# Two beheadings, with one featuring the executioners singing "Happy Birthday, Saddam" in Arabic as they carry out the grisly murder.
# A detainee whose hand is tied to a board while his fingers are cut off one by one.
# People being thrown off four-story buildings, including one who was forced to wear a Superman costume.
# A man scourged 99 times.
# Babies being gassed to death. -
Re:Yes that rightI'll concede that the U.S. government's behavior toward Muslim groups since 2001 has been irrational and unfair, and I am extremely uncomfortable with some of the stuff I see going down in Iraq, but U.S. citizens enjoy certain basic rights that the Chinese seem to lack, such as the right to appeal in court and get a fair hearing. Even the people imprisoned in Guantanamo are finally getting a right to fight their imprisonment, despite the best efforts of the Bush administration. From what I hear of Chinese courts, they must get their judges from the Australian outback.
Besides, in the U.S. we allow pornographic and superstitious websites to operate. Broadcasting is also permitted, although the porn ones are restricted to subscriber-only satellite and cable access.
You may argue that the superstitious website I referred to above backs the policies of the current administration, but remember also that it rabidly, vocally, and openly opposed the preceding administration, with no interference from the government whatever. Try that in China. Or, for that matter, in Iran, Malaysia, or Korea.

Re:Oh the Humanity! Some people seems to be convinced it's better to ban everything questionable / politically incorrect instead of acknowgleding responsability as a parent and keeping your kids from seeing stuff you don't want them exposed to.
And doing so is harmful. At some point, children SHOULD be exposed to harmful ideas: pornography, racism, loonie religious beliefs, and other horrible things. You probably don't want to expose them to all of it by age six, but you need to teach your kids, "these things are bad because of this, here is how you should deal with them when you encounter them."
If you don't expose your children to these things in a controlled fashion, their reaction on first meeting will be like a kid playing with fire: "ooooh... bright and colorful!" And then the kid gets burnt. Of course, with some things, it takes a few months to figure out what level of trouble they're in, rather than the fast feedback from a match.
Of course, if you do expose the kid to bad ideas, it is almost certain that they will do something stupid at some point. You do reduce the odds of their living as an angel from cradle-to-grave. But if you raise the kid in a "clean-room" environment, any first slip is much more likely to be large, radical, and permanently life-altering. And remember, "kills them outright" is a form of altering their life.
Kids need to be educated to make moral choices. The only way to be sure you've educated them is to expose them to moral choices while you still have some hope of offering guidance. God allows the existance of evil-- ever think maybe this is the reason?

You can even say to this mountain, 'May God lift you up and throw you into the sea,' and it will happen. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer" (Matthew 21:21).

Re:Rape?
According to CBN, Vice City is a game that simulates the rape and murder of prostitutes. (Seek to 15:20)
Hehe. Yup. Right-wing talk-radio host Michael Savage has repeatedly referred to GTA3 as "that game that rewards you for murdering policemen and judges". It's not just the "right", though -- Phil Donahue ran a FUD-filled report on his short-lived show. That's why I mentioned "authoritarian" in my original post. Issues like this are on a different political axis (authoritarian/libertarian) than we're used to hearing about. -
Re:Rape?
Are you serious?!? Are you unable to distinguish between scenarios in which you "pickup prostitutes, etc." and rape? (Or is this just well-disguised flamebait?)
He wouldn't be the only one who can't. According to CBN, Vice City is a game that simulates the rape and murder of prostitutes. (Seek to 15:20)
