    Run them in Windows 95 mode as the documentation suggests? I've not had a problem getting them to run at all on XP. If in doubt, download the free ISO's of Red Alert from http://www.commandandconquer.com/classic/ and follow their instructions (you might have to patch with a file that's on the ISO, I can't remember).

    There's a good thread going on the Command and Conquer web site. http://forums.commandandconquer.com/jforum/posts/list/17550.page I'd suggest making your opinion known there. The EA devs might see what's going on. As for Starcraft 2. I believe there's an online petition for it someone online.

    Command & Conquer is an old but awesome RTS, now available for free from EA - http://www.commandandconquer.com/intel/default.aspx?id=62#NewsMain

    He'd have to be very careful with this, many of the 'free' oldies available for download from existant publishers, such as C&C, or Bethesda's first 1st-person RPG, have a EULA only... that is, you can download and play the game, but you can't distribute it.

    Read the license you agree to before distributing any systems with these games installed.

    This games release has been a circus of errors. They finally put the stats page up the other day and it is missing tons of games.     I agree with everything you said about Silverlight...

    However, ultimately I believe that Silverlight will fail for the same reasons Flash failed. Flash has not failed at all. Instead, it has gone the way of Java and found a niche that it wasn't originally intended for. Java was intended for applet's on the web, and it wound-up as a server language. Flash was a neat way to make web-sites, but it now is used for applets, games, and streaming video.

    Having gone to the Game Developer's Conference last week, I see that the demand for Flash and ActionScript developers has jumped 100% over the past year. Flash is becoming the scripting language of choice for custom UIs. I'm not talking about Adobe's web-browser-based .SWF player called "Flash" - I'm referring to the open-standard language and file format used in .SWF, for which there are many hardware-accelerated 3rd-party players. For example, ScaleForm makes a Flash player that is used for the UI in Command and Conquer.

    Same version as the one in decades. Looks like you need the old patch as well, something i remember having problems with last time i tried installing C&C95.

    I hope they've fixed those issues, and it would be nice if they updated network play.
